U Bar

Was walking by from work on any normal Tuesday afternoon when I saw a sign for $2 Taco Tuesday, I was hungry and intrigued about this cheap yet enticing offer from this bar in the heart of the Gayborhood. I walked in, it was calm. A couple of customer here and there, the bartender (wish I knew his name) greeted me, asked me what I wanted, I told him my order. Few minutes later, received my 4 (eventually 5) $2 tacos composed of either chipotle chicken or beef on flour tortillas (sorry gluten free peeps ) I will say as a half Mexican man I was surprised with how tasty the food was and the bartender was super nice and made sure my coke was refilled and I had enough lemons to shower my tacos. Overall especially on a Tuesday, definitely come here! Will do so also

Lovely atmosphere. Cool good looking crowd, early 30s and over mainly when I was there The staff are all adorable And the drinks flow nice and not crazy prices

I really liked it here ... walked in without knowing anyone and met a lot of nice guys and had a great time I drank and ate and laughed the entire evening evening. ... I was totally impressed with Sammy from the kitchen ... he came out and checked with me to make certain i did not have a food allergy to onions because I ordered nachos with no pickled onions. (he's awesome).

Really great private bathroom. You can #2 in peace here if you use the bathroom that has the picture of the shy couple on the front. The bar service was great too!

I kid you not this was the worst bar experience I’ve ever had in my life. Mind you I’m not from Philly, so maybe this is how yall act and are okay with people talking to you and handling you like that— but my friend was just looking for his other card to pay because he had lost it, and the bar tender took the drinks from us and started yelling at us that it had been 15 minutes and if we weren’t paying then no drinks. I have NEVER had a bartender do that to me, and again maybe yall are just like that up here I don’t know, but one thing about it you do not talk to customers that way— we were in the middle of finding a solution, and he treated us so unkindly. He wore glasses and white hair and a beard. I don’t know who owns the bar, but maybe check your waiters to see if they have some manners. I was literally about to take my card out and everything. And ALSO my mouth was already on the straw, what was the point of taking the drink away, were you gonna give it to somebody else??? Like he just assumed we weren’t going to pay it was WEIRD energy. SO weird. So yeah, go if you like being treated poorly and talked to crazy. Lmao.

A bunch of wonderful, beautiful, kind people here. Strong, tasty, drinks at a good price! Thank you U Bar staff and security for reuniting me with my lost phone/wallet right before my flight home. Philly continues to endear and amaze me ❤️❤️❤️ Sincerely, A very disorganized, but home safe, Californian ☺️
