Quite, peaceful, relaxing, lots of sea shells for us collector's. Even found a piece of sea glass. The beach itself is smaller than what most would picture a beach to be, but beautiful none the less
Quite private like beach vibes ️ it has its own camping spot available but with a limited space - has shower, change rooms and restrooms. Tiny hidden beach - Waikiki, watch your steps as it is rocky even on some trail walks.. there are tables at the lookout spots to enjoy the views of the lighthouse. There is a party hall - good for small events.. the parking was $15 for us(whole day)not sure if there is a resident discount(you may wanna check that if you are Salem resident) definitely so sooothing and peaceful - I would not recommend swimming.
RV camped for a couple of nights. Cool spot just a short bike ride from all Salem has to offer. We enjoyed the ample space to walk our dogs around. The abandoned building is creepy to see at night but we liked that sort of thing
Beautiful place to take pictures. There’s not a lot of information posted as to how to catch the ferry.
$10 all day parking and such a cute little beach! The main beach is still pretty small but it's nice to relax at. The other two are very small and rocky but good for finding sea glass at. There was some nice walking trails and over all it's a fun way to spend your day! Although I will say there isn't much space for camping so I wouldn't recommend spending the money to do that
Winter island is a really nice little camp spot tucked off in Salem. After a crazy day in town with all the tourists and lines, it was serene to just relax here. It was quiet and quaint even with other campers. The staff was very nice and accommodating, they were helpful when I emailed and again when I called. The beach is a great bonus here. I didn’t expect it to be so nice. It was like a little slice of your own vacation beach. All in this was a very relaxing spot.
Winter Island is absolutely beautiful. This place is definitely one of the top sites around the Salem area to come and visit plus they also have camping. Their outdoor pavilion is perfect for any event, rain or shine. We just had our wedding near the end of September and this was the most perfect place for our Viking theme. The foliage is beautiful all around plus the water view and the covered arbor is breathtaking with its natural greenery and orange flowers. I felt like I was in a fairytale all day long. It rained the whole day of the wedding but the size of the pavilion was perfect to keep everyone dry and the lighting was bright enough well into the night. The function hall is really nice, it's on the smaller side and will probably hold about 60 people and with our wedding of about 80 people it was a little bit cramped due to the rain but well worth having both the function hall and the pavilion for a venue. The staff was incredible and extremely helpful and friendly the entire time. I highly suggest visiting or hosting a party at winter Island.
