Maui World Travelers

The last time I was here was years ago. We were walking on Pine Street and saw rainbow flags. Here's where my amnesia kicked in. I didn't recognize the bar because now there are big sliding glass door windows that spill out onto the sidewalk. My partner said they renovated years ago. And there's an upstairs too? What the... It was of course dead on Sunday night, but we had fun people watching and watching music videos. I love the brick walls and the big open doors. The bartenders were friendly. And I love that its non-smoking. The amount of beer taps deserved a picture! And the rainbow-colored Prism beer tap caught my eye. I got a free small sample but didn't like its fruity (haha) and flat tap taste. Tootled upstairs to refresh my mind. There was hip-hop/R&B thumping on the dance floor with a few patrons. OVERALL: Nice selection of bottle & drafts, good prices, and non-smoking.

I recently visited Woody's for the second time this year, specifically for the Halloween night event. The venue itself is always a decent spot for a night out, but the holiday event revealed some significant issues with pricing that severely impacted the overall experience. The Entry Fee: A Hard to Swallow Price Hike While a price increase for a holiday is expected, the jump this year felt excessive. The entry fee was raised to $30 per person, up substantially from the $20 fee just last year. This increase is hard to justify. While some might blame general economic inflation, it felt more like a blatant act of price gouging for a high-demand night. Charging 50% more year-over-year for basic entry feels greedy and disrespectful to repeat patrons. Drink Prices: Absurd and Overpriced The most shocking part of the night was the cost of drinks. For just two drinks—which included the infamous "Trash Can" (a cocktail featuring Red Bull and liquor)—the total came to a staggering $57. For a relatively simple, high-volume drink, this price point is simply absurd. While I understand that you pay a premium for convenience and atmosphere, spending nearly $60 on two basic cocktails and an entry fee of $30 per person makes for an incredibly expensive night out. Final Thoughts Woody's is fine for its intended purpose: a place to see and be seen, especially during a lively holiday like Halloween. The crowds were certainly out and having a good time, living up to the expectation of a typical party atmosphere. However, the aggressive pricing strategy—both for the entry fee and the highly inflated drink costs—makes the event poor value for money. It's disappointing when businesses take advantage of holiday demand to this extent. Potential visitors should be aware that the price for going out and experiencing the crowd far outweighs the quality or complexity of the product being served.

We noticed that Woody's had a lot of seats available. We decided to watch the game there. As I produced my Driver's license. I showed him the barcode. It scanned. Which works at other clubs. He asked to see my photo and pulled my license toward his chest. I felt a bit scared and said "hey give it back". He brought the license a bit closer and I grabbed the license and put it in my pocket. But I felt afraid. And we immediately left. What a change this place has had. My girlfriends and I used to stop here often. I probably won't ever return to Woody's.

It wasn’t very happening. Kind of dull, less crowd on a Friday night too. Dj wasn’t good. Kind of the opposite of what I expected. There was a 15 dollar entry fee for a not so happening place which didn’t make sense. I gave at-least 3 stars because bartenders are really sweet and offered great service.

I would only go here with a large group of people you trust. Creepy vibe all around. Lots of men praying on young women and even couples. It used to be so fun here. Also there was barely anyone there on a Saturday night. The music was hard to dance to.

this is the absolute worst place to go in all of philadelphia and i hope one day everyone realizes and it gets shut down. my little sister went out with some friends tonight and got drugged. one drink and got drugged. every person i know in philly has a story of a friend or themselves getting drugged at this establishment. it deserves to be shut down and every single person who works there arrested because they know what happens inside their business and what? they make you sign a waiver now so they cannot be responsible. shut this place down. women are getting drugged and hurt when they think they are going to a fun night out. horrible horrible place.

We went here on the night after Halloween where the upstairs bartender DRUGGED MY TWO FRIENDS!!!!! Tested positive at the hospital SAME NIGHT with rohypnol + GHP (ROOFIES). they were both foaming at the mouth and COULD NOT WALK, EAT OR DRINK. Bringing it up to one of the security guys about it and they did NOTHING to help and said "oh well these bartenders are outsourced so idk what to really tell you" - ONLY to find out THE SECURITY IS ALSO OUTSOURCED. Do NOT go here!!! We had to call an ambulance!!!! They do NOT give a crap about ANYONE. You wanna know what the hospital said?! They said "Oh, woodys? Yeah, happens often." Disgusting behavior and the owners need to be held responsible for this.
