Veda Salon & Spa - On Academy

I moved to Colorado Springs almost nine years ago and hadn't found a good hairstylist until I had a great experience (twice) getting my hair cut by Angie at Veda Salon and Spa on Academy North. I mentioned to Angie that I don't like to spend a lot of time on my hair and showed her pictures of low maintenance hairstyles I was interested in and she took it from there with excellence. The salon has such a friendly, professional, and accommodating atmosphere that I'm looking forward to experiencing other services this salon has to offer as well.

Everytime I walk in it’s an amazing experience. Tessa is so sweet and inviting. Everyone is completely friendly. My favorite thing is when you check-in a salon and they offer you a drink while you wait for your stylist. They make their guests feel like too priority!! Great attention to detail!

Went for a facial as I was given a gift card for Christmas. Appointment was supposed to be 50 minutes but provider started late around 9:15 but still promptly ended the facial at 10. For $110 that’s unacceptable. I tried to use a $30 online coupon I found for new customers but was told my provider didn’t honor that coupon. Why have an online coupon if you can’t use it? Atmosphere was nice and facial was good but due to high price, not honoring the coupon and getting a 45 minute facial when I paid for 50 I won’t be back.

I went in for a haircut with Sammi feeling excited and confident because I brought clear reference photos and explained exactly what I wanted: a blunt mid-neck bob with the ends slightly broken up, and no layers, since I wear my hair wavy and don’t like how short layers curl. I even gave a reference for the exact length on myself. From the start, I felt uncomfortable. My reference photo was barely looked at before the conversation shifted into how she planned to cut my hair. She repeatedly talked about her experience, assured me I wouldn’t be "trained on," and mentioned trends and past styles I specifically did not want. Despite my clear requests, she decided on her own approach, including using a mini clipper and aiming for what she later called a "French bob." I ultimately left with hair cut to the length of my ears—much shorter than I asked for and the exact opposite of what I wanted. I chose a creative stylist because I expected to be listened to and consulted with, but I did not feel heard at any point in the process. I contacted the salon afterward to share my experience and never received a response. At this point, there’s nothing to do except grow it out, but I wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone who values clear communication and having their requests respected.

Shannon always does a great job. She listens to my vague thoughts and always delivers a high quality result. Her assistant (Rachel or Rebecca? I’m terribly sorry I don’t remember) made me feel taken care of. She didn’t just rub my scalp and neck while washing my hair, she made sure to provide healing. Additionally, but not less importantly, there was a Hanukkah menorah on the table, and I truly appreciate the representation. It was lovely to see an offering of light during these very dark times.

Kelsey at the N. Academy location is excellent for deep tissue massage and reflexology work. Okay, she's great at all the techniques, but those are my go-to's. She a good listen and focuses on what each person needs. We've been seeing her for years, and well worth it.

I've been going to Veda for a while now, and I have to say—Trinitey is absolutely incredible. She consistently does an amazing job with my hair. I've gotten both color treatments and multiple haircuts from her, and I always leave the salon thrilled with the results. She's also recommended some great products that have really worked for my hair. On top of her talent, she's always so kind and welcoming every time I come in.
