Paradise Point Resort & Spa

Our weekend at Paradise Point Resort & Spa was wonderful. The resort feels like a tropical escape right in San Diego, with palm trees, sandy paths, and peaceful lagoons throughout the property. Walking around the island is relaxing, and the pool areas are perfect for a sunny day. The food was a highlight of the stay. We had an excellent waterfront dinner and also enjoyed a casual meal by the bay. Everything we ate was fresh, well prepared, and made the experience even better. It is a place where you can relax, eat well, and not want to leave.

We stayed Christmas weekend with 3 friends and got easily upgraded to bigger suite with minimal fee. This is so beautiful property with all the necessary amenities you need in a resort. There is so much to do inside with mini golf, by cycle rental, pickle ball Court. Property is so big so you won’t feel crowded. Inside restaurants are very good and the cafe for breakfast and coffee have nice seating area.My only suggestion to get the fire bit with all the suites.

I was expecting so much more from a 4 star resort. This place is 2 stars at BEST. It is very reminiscent of camping. It is very isolated and it feels like it is tucked away in the woods. We kept finding little bugs everywhere. Especially behind the curtains there were upwards of 100s of bugs. The rooms felt damp and in desperate need for renovation. The table was wobbly and everything feels unclean. It is also poorly lit at night and it feels very unsafe. The bungalow next to ours, the individuals looked like they were doing illicit activities. I booked for two nights for my family at $832 but they charged my credit card $1200 without any explanation for the surprise increase in price. I am honestly so disappointed and was really looking forward to the 4 star experience. If you want to PAY for 4 stars but EXPERIENCE 1-2 stars, then this is the place for you.

The hotel is generally fine; the facilities are clean and, while not new, are in decent condition—no complaints there. The main problem is the ridiculous additional fees charged at check-in, such as parking and resort fees, which increased our stay by $100 USD without any prior notice. This makes a one-night stay feel unreasonably expensive. This negatively impacted our experience, as the intention of our trip was to celebrate our son's fourth birthday at Legoland. Looking for a more affordable option, we ended up choosing this hotel instead of one inside the park, and ultimately paid more. Having no information about these fees and being forced to pay them is more of a scam than a service.

Positive: Great location! The grounds are nice, and the main pool is beautiful. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Negative: The mattresses were not great, and the shower was horrible. The waterfall pool could use an update. Wish there were more fire pits.

Just spent an entire week here and really enjoyed our stay. We had a room on the bay that faced west which was great for mornings listening & watching the rowing/crew boats training and beautiful evening sunsets with a lovely bonfire. The room we stayed in was clean and nicely decorated with ample room to move about. Internet connection was always solid. We only used the pool closest to our room (I think it was the adults only pool) but it was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed a nice dinner with drinks at the Barefoot Bar & Grill just in time to experience a beautiful sunset. Every staff member we interacted with was very nice and accommodating. The location is sort of isolated as the resort sits on its own island but getting around on the isle is really easy and safe. And with several restaurants (offering breakfast & coffee as well as lunch and dinner), a small market for snacks & drinks, multiple pools, as well as bike and boat rentals, you kinda have everything you need right there on the isle. You don't really need to go anywhere but if you want to and you don't have a car there are bus stops right at the entry to the resort that will take you to north Pacific Beach or south to Old Town where you can catch the tram into downtown San Diego. We did both and it was super-easy. Overall, our stay was great. Highly recommended!

This is a great place for couples wanting a quiet getaway so long as you go in low season as well as families with children during summertime. It's a unique property as it's situated on an island in the middle of Mission Bay and is the only resort/hotel there. The individual bungalows are way more private and intimate than a typical vertical hotel. The rooms are very spacious and updated although we were a bit disappointed about not being able to access any streaming services on the TV (they should really fix that). There are five pool areas including hot tubs, bars, bathrooms throughout the resort which provides easy access for everyone. This is a great feature! Being on an island, you'll enjoy its privacy, peacefulness and uncluttered beaches. The proximity of this hotel to the Sea World, Old Town, downtown, Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo and the airport is a huge plus. I strongly recommend this resort hotel.
