Alief Community Park

I really wish I had a park like this in Chicago where I grew up. Really great place. Skatepark is a cool place to kill some time. Bathrooms are a little far though.

My grandson was enrolled in several sporting events at this place before it became a City of Houston park. He played basketball and soccer there. I watched tha place get transformed into a world class public facility. As a senior citizen, I have enjoyed and participated in numerous events held there currently. BakerRipley, a nonprofit organization has upset my access to several of tha amenities. Tha park has multiple soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a skateboard park, a gardening area, chess/checker boards, table tennis, wonderful walking paths, a great children’s playground, a fully integrated swimming pool and great landscaping. That’s just what’s available outside. Inside the building there is a basketball court, exercise equipment, classrooms, a public library, two recording studios, one for audio and one for video. There is an area where large poster sized documents can be printed.There are embroidery machines and other sewing machines. There is a passport place and a WIC program. And thats just what I can recall herein.

They have a skate park that's great for novice riders, to expert, all street, no vert or half pipes, but still a good design. Tennis courts, pingpong tables, and a huge playground. Oh yea, it also has a library among other indoor features...

Nice courts for tennis and pickleball. Definitely need to come earlier to lock in a spot. It gets packed after 5pm. I usually have to show up and wait for someone to get off the court.

This is a newnice park for the community. It has playgrounds, tennis places, a basketball court, skating area, ⚽️ soccer fields, pool, library, walking sidewalks, and many more activities. However, never live your kids unattended as there are bad people who do drugs around the park. As we were in a bansh close to the soccer ⚽️ field,observing our kids, we saw a sip lock bag with 5 needles with yellow medicine in them. I did not want some kids having excess to it,so I used a stick to dump it on the trash. I told the security at the building. He said that next time, bring it to make a report. I just did not want to handle something like that with my bare hands.

Nice community park with gym, library… kid friendly and I love the greenery

Place is spacious with lots to offer. Good for community and health. There is alot of teens skipping school alot that come show up. Smoking. Leaving trash in places. Not enough security to monitor them all. Other than that the place is nice addition to the community.
