Little Sandy Beach Area

Nice little fishing area. We went near the beginning of fall so it was very empty. But still a wonderful experience.

It's a really pretty beach and there are tent camps all around it. The rv spots are also fairly close. The bathroom aren't horrible and there were any spiders. The lake it pretty warm this time of year so it is really nice. You can night swim as well as day swim. Sometimes people do leave trash but that is to be expected nowadays. It's a pretty quiet place and the geese are beautiful. The water isn't super deep maybe 8 to 10 feet at the deepest before the buoys. The fish stay far away from you but you can see them jump up. There is moss and grass at the bottom at some points but no rocks so it makes a great swim for kids.

Decent place to set up but most of the people are inconsiderate and leave trash everywhere also we reserved a spot and had ppl try to take our reserved area while we were actively using it. Wish the community was a bit more respectful other than that the state park did their best to keep it peaceful and nice.

Truly enjoyed our time at Lake Thunderbird, we took time to skip rocks in the lake.

I am not much of a lake/river swimmer, but the family loved it. I really loved that they had showers there
