Beard's Plaisance

Great playground for ages 1-12. It has a sand base. There is enough trees for shade breaks, while we were there everything was in the sun and almost too hot to touch. There is a public restroom which was clean and functional. There are a lot of benches and two large pavilions. The park is within walking distance of several restaurants and icecream!

Beautiful picnic and playground above Lake Harriet catches the breeze, provides shade and the smell of pine.

The area is big and open. Plenty of room to hang out. The park is fun and creative. The picnic area is a bit on the grimy side, but hopefully, that's because we just had a winter. Fingers crossed that the caretaker of the park gets it all cleaned up 🤞🏻🤞🏻 the local kids sure made a cool fort in the picnic area. Up high and out of sight [[LOVING IT!!]]

I chose this location for my child’s celebration of life. She would’ve loved it. The huge gazebo is the perfect place to host a get together for a lot of people. Views of the lake are amazing and parking plentiful. With bathrooms and a playground right there, you have everything you need. I’ll definitely rent it again.

A great area for a picnic with plenty of tables, some grills, bathrooms, and a playground. Big trees provide lots of shade, and you are just across the street from Lake Harriet. Street parking available on Upton Ave if the parking lot is full. The pavilion can be reserved for events, so don't count on using it in case of bad weather. If rain is forecasted, plan to pack your own cover for any of the other tables.

I took my two year old to this park at around 930am The climbing structures seemed slippery caused by play sand. Play sand surrounded by cement sidewalks keep the playground feeling a little slick when running around. There is a parking lot on the lake side. Down the hill by the tennis courts. 2 hour limit. Or you can park on Upton if you don't mind traffic driving by during a load/unload. Picnic structure is nice. Bathrooms were open 9-20-21.
