Brechtel Park

There are several small trails that wind through the trees, with water and wooded areas that make it feel peaceful without being overwhelming. It’s a great spot to get a mile in, especially if you’re short on time. I come here often with my dog, and it’s a solid option for leashed walks and light runs. The park is mostly well maintained, though you do need to watch for the occasional downed tree on some of the trails. They recently repaved the road, which is a nice improvement and makes getting around the park smoother. On weekends, there’s usually security present Friday through Sunday, which adds a layer of comfort. During the week, especially Monday through Thursday, it tends to be quieter with little to no staff visible. Overall, it’s a good neighborhood park. Not huge, not fancy, but reliable, peaceful, and perfect for shorter workouts or a quick walk with your dog.

This was a nice place to spend the day and eat a picnic. We walked around the woods and visited Bachelor's Groves. It was a peaceful place with scenic views in the middle of the forest. I would have liked to see the camping grounds, but there was a locked gate across the entrance to the camping area.

Black, female security guard with the atrocious wig is extremely rude, combative, unprofessional, and confrontational. Confronts every visitor she sees in an attempt to intimidate and bully you into leaving the park earlier than the posted closing time by almost an hour. This park is not visitor friendly.

It’s crazy to me how people that work in such a beautiful setting can be so angry. The manager with all the long hair in the grey jeep is really aggressive when people aren’t gone an hour before closing time because he said he likes to get home early. I saw a similar review about this when I looked up this place so it must be a regular occurence as i witnessed how incredibly unkind they are my very first day there. He was quite threatening so it’s probably best to avoid him or have protection for safety reasons as he appears to have no issue attacking people while they are alone.

A hidden gem. Beautiful park that's not crowded. We rented shelters 7 and 8, and had sooo much space plus private restrooms. The park was clean but there were a couple of tables and benches that were unusable because they were broken. The city should really replace these. There also wasn't any soap in the restrooms. No electricity, so we needed to bring generators but this was known in advance. These are really the only cons. This is one of the only few parks in the city that allow a DJ outside so that was great! We also were able to bring in food trucks (they must be paid in advance), games, grill, etc. The staff was also nice. No issues there.

You can hike around and through the forest and feel like you are really away from the city. i did see several large snakes.
