Pleasant hotel with helpful staff. The foyer is charming and the sitting areas are cozy. I stayed for two nights in a room with a double bed and city view. It was comfortably sized and furnished. Some corners of the room/furniture look worn or dusty, but the bed and towels were clean and neat. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There were plenty of toiletries and towels in the bathroom and I thought the shower pressure and temperature were great. I wasn't sure how to control the temperature in my room other than using the AC, but possibly the staff need to be asked to adjust the heat. There is an average continental breakfast. I liked the social in the evening; they provided wine, snacks, soup. Location is close enough to the subway and other parts of the city, and I love the neighborhood for walking around. Hoping to come back here on my next trip to Philadelphia.
Old building . Owners have not given much thought to How to equip a hotel. Beaten up furniture. Elevator works Broken table lamp in room .was remedied Can't control heat Windows in room broken No light above bed Very hard bed. Outlet strip for charging and lamps. Full size bed for 2 6.1 guys . Tricky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lovely staff. So convenient Fortunately, it was affordable. Im sure the owners bank on repeat business cuz most of us are broke!!!!!!!!! Id go back based on location and price.
Positive: Cozy Negative: There was no thermostat in the room. It was very warm and I had to open the window to bring the temperature down, but then I had to put up with street noise
I live in Texas, so I just expect everything bigger. Room was small (but it is the Northeast) clean though. Elevator had no problems. A very basic free breakfast but free (bagels, boiled eggs, juice, Ceral, waffle). I was only there for two nights, staff was cool. Thin walls, I can hear the room next to me coughing all night. Location! Location is perfect! First time in Philly and I only used Uber to the stadium and airport. Very walkable. Location was my favorite part. Oh two free glasses of wine.
Love the feel of the hotel, the faint art deco style, and the staff is amazing and friendly. Only complaints would be everything is a bit musty, which makes sense for a pet friendly hotel, the noise travels between rooms like crazy, and it's the middle of November and my room is like 80 degrees at 3 AM and no thermostat. That might be awesome for some people, but for a Midwestern boy like myself it's way to warm. With that said the rooms are quant, it's affordable, and there is a light breakfast that's enough to get your day started. Didn't get a chance to enjoy the complimentary wine and cheese offered every night, but it's still a nice touch.
This is our third stay at the Inn and we will definitely come back again! Great location, convenient easy walk to Reading Terminal Market and all of downtown Philly. Has nice rooms, affordable and clean. Quiet inside the Inn. Nice breakfast and fun evening reception with wine and snacks. Only reason we give it 4 rather than 5 stars is you cannot adjust your room heat. It's central heating. The room was a sauna when we entered. Opened 2 of the 3 windows to cool it. Left the windows open all night, evening temp of 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Room was probably around 65F after a couple hours, good sleeping temperature. Staff members are polite and nice. Parking is few blocks away in a garage. Front desk gives 10% off parking...hourly rate only. No discount if you want in-out privileges . Pet friendly. Emergency exit: Has an interior stairwell for emergency exit. Door marked exit on the 6th floor near our room takes you to an outside balcony with no stairs....too high to jump down. Down the hall is an exterior door with full steel stair exit.
We loved it, the location is perfect for downtown sightseeing, staff were friendly and accommodating. The room had everything we needed. The rooms are a bit worn and water pressure left something to be desired. Highly recommend if you in the area.
