Hyatt House Pittsburgh-South Side

Great location with beautiful river views and plenty of food options nearby. We felt safe walking everywhere. Unfortunately, check-in was frustrating. I had completed it in the app, but the front desk wouldn’t finalize it because the reservation was in my husband’s name, even though he was right outside parking and came in immediately after. I’ve stayed at many Hyatts and have never had this issue before. The room layout was nice, but cleanliness and details were disappointing: sticky kitchen floors, a dusty vent, glasses with condensation still on them, only one roll of toilet paper (we had to request more), no laundry bag in the closet, watered-down shower gel, and the room smelled like marijuana. On a positive note, the breakfast area was clean and offered a decent selection.

Not recommended for GAP bike riders. The hotel is in a good location right on the GAP and near many good restaurants and shops. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have well-appointed, functional kitchenettes suitable for an extended stay. When I arrived, I was stopped in the lobby by the gentleman at the front desk and told that we could not bring our bikes inside the hotel and store them in our room (an unwritten policy that could not be referenced). Our only option was the bike storage room (see below photos), which is a dumping ground for all matter of things and completely unsatisfactory and unsecure (no cameras and no alarm on the door that goes directly out the back of the hotel). He said that they don't cater to bicycle riders. I asked for the manager, and she was very kind and understanding. She said that they do get steady business from GAP riders and suggested that we use the parking garage elevator to take the bikes to the room. This was the only option anyways since the other (lobby) elevator was out of order. This really was a simple problem to solve. I appreciate the manager solving it and lament that the gentlemen at the front desk was not empowered to solve a simple customer service issue. Finally, there was a wedding that evening, and it disturbed us exactly zero. It looked like they had a really good event.

I spent 3 nights at Hyatt House to meet up with friends in Pittsburgh. The staff at the hotel are very nice, and have good restaurant recommendations. However, much of the hotel did not feel clean. Housekeeping did not come during my stay (even after asking the front desk for my room to be serviced). By the last day, the garbage cans were overflowing, there was a giant mound of used towels on the floor, and a feeling grimy. I only had breakfast one of the mornings, but it was not readily restocked, and tables not clean. I reached out to a hotel manager and Hyatt, and no one has gotten back to me. Would not stay here again.

My stay here was incredible. The apartment style suites really make the difference in coziness, convenience, etc. The suites include full kitchens, a peloton, lots of space & onsite amenities like a bar, a restaurant & more - they literally have everything !!! Danielle Grasso, the Sales Manger here is WONDERFUL. She was super kind, helpful & accommodating throughout my entire stay & I couldn’t be more grateful 🥰 I can’t wait to come back! 🧖🏻‍♀️🥂✨🏩

I stayed here for a night back in July. The room was clean and spacious. Service and front desk were great as well. The only downside is parking which cost about $23/night, but I think this is typical these days. The other downside is that there is no smart tv in the room for netflix.

John is an amazing guy, genuinely never felt more comfortable and welcomed at a hotel like this one. I cant stress the phenomenal service. The location is really good with a nice fun plaza right across the street with a view of the river.
