AC Hotel Austin-University

I stay in a lot of hotels for work and I rarely ever say this but the staff was amazing! They are so accommodating and helpful! Key was especially sweet and accommodating. She was like a cool girlfriend to me and my coworkers! I feel like a lot of hotel staff enjoy telling you no every chance they get. Not this place! They really tried you help you out as much as they can. The hotel is dog friendly but so is the staff! However, there aren’t a lot of proper green spaces where I felt like my dog was allowed. The rooms were small but newer with large windows. However, the parking in their parking garage was pricy. There was a cool rooftop bar next door at the Otis that we had access to as well. If and when I come back to Austin for work, I’d definitely consider staying here again.

Some of the friendliest most accommodating staff at both the AC and the adjoining Otis hotel. Any issue was taken care of, any reasonable request was granted. Prete was super friendly and helpful as were all the desk folks. Rooms were clean. View was terrible - back of a building and dumpsters. Gym was meh. Acre 41 restaurant and bar was good. Bartenders made high level drinks. Great bourbon selection. Staff including the valets were always offering cold water. We stayed for college move in and the staff made a high stress situation so much better. Good location - near UT campus too. Five stars for the consistent effort.

Positive: The location and the property amenities, restaurants, and room service Negative: The only thing that could have made it better was a rug. But I felt it was clean and had what I needed for my stay. Good value!

5 stars all around! The rooms were really clean and so neatly put together, their housekeeping does a great job. Service was exceptional, I wish I had gotten the names but all the boys at valet were so professional and kind. They always held the door open for me, they would open the car doors for me even if it was a rideshare I had called or I was getting out of a friend's car and wasn't using the valet service. Also, Lala at front desk was so sweet in checking me in and helping me navigate the hotel. When I checked out they even offered me water for the rest of my trip, which was exceptional! And the location is great, close to campus and the conference center, I'd definitely stay here again.

This was probably one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at! The staff there are so friendly and helpful. I’d had a series of flight delays that led to me missing my first night at the hotel, and Yanni was so helpful in getting my reservation updated last minute. She definitely made that the easiest part of the entire debacle! Once I got there, check-in was a breeze, and the entire stay continued to be full of considerate staff, great amenities, and easy access to the area! If I’m ever in Austin again, I’ll definitely be staying here!

Hope this helps someone decide if they want to book. Beautiful location, exterior, and lobby. Free and safe parking. No free breakfast or guest perks. Rooms were clean but the housekeeping leaves the trash can on the tables and top of the toilet. No hot water in room 103 and extremely low shower pressure. The bar is on the 5th floor but you have to ride in an extremely slow and small elevators. The view at the bar is nice but the drinks are small and expensive.

Stayed at AC Hotel Austin-University Area on a recent business trip and it fit the purpose well. I had a high-floor room that felt quiet, private, and comfortable for one person. The style is modern and minimal, similar to an Aloft hotel. Clean layout, efficient use of space, and easy to settle into if you need to get work done. This is not really a vacation-style property. It feels more geared toward business travelers or short stays where you want a calm environment to focus. I was able to work from the room comfortably without distractions. The staff was consistently kind, professional, and helpful, which always elevates a stay. Location is another plus. It is close to UT Austin and within walking distance or a short ride to many restaurants, making meals very convenient. Overall, a solid choice for solo business travel if you value simplicity, functionality, and a good location.
