Booked one of the Villa rooms. I had to switch rooms due to issues with the AC/heating, but the staff handled it professionally. The rooms are spacious, though cleanliness could be improved, and the mattress wasn’t very comfortable for me. Breakfast is quite good, with several options and fresh fruit. I stayed for a business trip, and the location is very convenient.
Hotel was easily accessible in town, parking was easy and plentiful. Check-in was easy front desk clerk was very kind and efficient. Rooms were clean bathrooms were nice and stocked. Breakfast in the morning was really good with a lot of options. Definitely worth the money , would stay here again if needed. Five stars.
My husband and I stayed in a villa room for 5 nights at Christmas. Our first room was not clean and the upholstery was very spotted. The heat did not work. We were moved after 1 night to another villa. Clean this time but still no heat. It takes a while to feel that the heat is not coming out of the vent. Did not want to move again because it is alot of packing. We hoped that the maintenance man could fix it. He tried and was very nice, but no heat. So, 5 nights without heat. Also, pool jaccuzzi was not working. Breakfast was no longer a wonderful cooked to order affair. We have stayed multiple times at the Grand and loved it....but not this time. Staff is friendly as always, but the property needs help. I asked for a discount and have not heard back from the manager.
The rooms were nice and clean. A bit disappointed with the lack of a fitness center, although there was a pool. Breakfast was lackluster and very carb heavy; there were no eggs or other form of protein.
What in the world! No heaters start there. We booked a room & when we arrived we were told that room wasn’t available so they were downgrading us & boy did they ever, still have not received a refund for the downgrade? The heater didn’t work smelled very sweet & strange so we turned it off. Next day they moved us to another room, which wasn’t any better as the air conditioning was running all evening. We woke up feeling sick with achy throats. They have a great photographer. Let’s just say that because nothing was what it seemed. It would be, the buffet was nothing like the photos. Just not a great experience for what you pay! I would search another option. I made a very long video but it only lets me do 30 seconds so you’re gonna miss a lot of what I saw unfortunately
I stayed at this hotel due to a last-minute decision and strongly regret it. The ratings are very misleading, property is listed as a four-star hotel, yet the condition tells a very different story. The elevator and hallways show visible neglect the moment you enter. The room was muggy and had a very strong, unpleasant odor. During our stay it rained, and water leaked into the room through the windows, soaking the carpet. This was clearly a building issue. Despite this, the hotel falsely blamed us and charged for the damage. This experience reflects poor maintenance and worse accountability. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and notified my bank regarding the disputed charge. I strongly recommend families and travelers avoid this hotel if possible. The risk of poor conditions and unfair charges is not worth it. Update on 1/5: Hello Claudio, Thank you for your response to my review. I am following up because I have not received any direct communication from the hotel since your reply, nor do I see the disputed charges reversed or adjusted. Given the false allegations raised during my stay, terrible situation of your hotel rooms ( room # 429) and your acknowledgement to my review, I would expect and appreciate an update towards resolving this issue.
I stayed at The Grand Hotel for two nights. The room was spacious — actually more suitable for two people than one — but the furniture and equipment were clearly outdated and in need of modernization. The internet connection was good, which I appreciated. However, the check-in experience was not very welcoming; the receptionist was quite tough and not particularly friendly. Thankfully, my later interactions were much better — other staff members I dealt with afterward and during checkout were pleasant and helpful. One thing that really surprised me was the $100 safety deposit policy. I’ve traveled extensively around the globe, and while many hotels do place a hold on your credit card for security, this was the first time I’ve seen one actually charge $100 as a deposit. It’s definitely something guests should be aware of. Breakfast was another disappointment — very limited choices, almost no variety, and not at all what you’d expect from a hotel of this name. N.B It was an actual charge that appears on my balance sheet and not just a hold as stated on the reply
