Great place to stay near the river and Main Street where all of the shops are. Rooms are large and very comfy. The heating was very loud and kept me up. I would definitely take some ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper like me. It the bed was very comfortable. The staff were great. I enjoyed the cheese trays and live music in the lobby. Also loved the location beside The Olde Pink House. Everything was within walking distance.
Beautiful well decorated place. Lovely to have water and coffee available. Very nice to have wine and cheese platters HOWEVER, we arrived at 6:35, checked in 6:38 and we were unable to get the wine or cheese. It was literally being packed away as we were checking in. It was so disappointing that they could not salvage a couple of glasses for us. Nice to be able to walk to the river and purchase our drinks.
Location could not have been better!!! Within walking distance to most everything we had planned to do. Such a beautiful building and lobby.. Room in 5th floor was perfect. Tub could use a little work on caulk and maybe an updated white toilet seat😁 Each night they hosted a wine and cheese happy hour which was well attended. Southern charm exudes! Right next door to the historic Pink House.
Gorgeous lobby, great service, and great location in the historic district. The hotel entrance is right across from a park (Reynolds Square) and depending on the room you get, you can get a nice view of the park. The location of our room was next to the elevator. And while I've stayed in rooms in other hotels next to elevators before, this elevator is particularly noisy. It didn't affect me that much, but for light sleepers, it really could be an issue. Also, these beds (while comfortable) are set up very high from the floor. This can be a major problem for the elderly or short people. The walls and ceiling have some cosmetic issues.
We had a wonderful time staying at the Planter’s Inn. It’s conveniently located. The tour bus has a stop across the street and the Dot goes the hotel too. It’s within walking distance to the river. The service made us feel like we were in an opulent resort. Carl the doorman was especially helpful. He gave us directions and was super friendly. The wine and cheese was a treat.
So we drove in from FL this week for a convention. The hotel is older and needs some cosmetic repairs. It was quiet and the location was absolutely perfect. There are two parking garages flanking the hotel, so we parked and walked to River Street and the Historic District. We also got Uber if we wanted to go out at night or further…very responsible. Shower was hot & forceful. The A/C ductwork needs a cleaning and the thermostat was old so you couldn’t tell the temperature of the room. Also— the beds were so high I had to jump in, so not recommended for older people or anyone with back or leg issues. Please provide a step stool.
Fantastic experience. There is a parking garage across the street. We chose to self park, but you have to park up on the high levels and there is only 1 elevator on the opposite side….Next time we would valet, because it is located on the ground level of the garage and 30 seconds to the front door of the hotel.
