We were looking forward to the Prancer’s Pub Christmas Pop Up for the full experience. We drove 90 minutes and got a hotel room. 45 minutes before our reservation we got a message saying they could no longer accommodate us. As we found out there was a party that reserved the bar from 1130pm-3:30am. We were quite disappointed to find that we had come all this way and planned our whole night around this and to stay at the hotel. The front desk did offer free breakfast to compensate. It was a nice gesture, but did not help solve the problem. The pub was nicely decorated for Christmas and it was very festive. The bar was very busy, and the bartender did his best to remain friendly and keep up. We enjoyed some of the festive holiday cocktails. The hotel itself could use some updating. Our room was fine, comfortable, towels are soft. I would recommend the pub during the holidays, but confirm your reservation beforehand to ensure this doesn’t happen.
We booked a four-night stay here during our trip to Chicago and had a great experience. The lobby is beautiful, and the pool is huge. Our room was always clean when we returned each day, and the staff were extremely friendly throughout the hotel. On our first morning, I had a flat tire, and the front desk manager, Marco(hopefully I got his name spelled correctly)went out of his way to help by providing an air pump so I could refill the tire and drive to the dealer. Excellent service and a very welcoming stay.
Overall my stay was pleasant here at the Hyatt. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Unfortunately overall the hotel looked a bit old, the carpet in the corridor had holes and it felt very empty. Still for one night it was ok.
Positive: Nice vibe, old school upscale. Beautiful surroundings, and there's a lot of road work going on, so they clearly are focused on upkeep of certain aspects. Negative: The hotel has signs of being run down like torn carpet in the hallways. My room upon check in had a foul odor similar to rotten fish, as did the 2nd room. I think it was an unpleasant cleaning chemical. AC took a long while to cool.
The hotel location is secluded, the welcome team was wonderful. The rooms were cool , however the chair upholstery was dirty and carpet was dirty. The hotel could stand an upgrading or exceptional cleaning. We had wonderful night caps down in the bar area and the service was fantastic and so were the drinks. That morning, I had to go down to the restaurant which served breakfast to get some sugar and cream for my coffee in the room because the room was not stocked with any. The host setting up breakfast that morning was rude!! However she gave me some cream. I felt bad for even asking for it. We went back down to the same restaurant which served breakfast and I ordered chicken and Waffles. The chicken was not cooked and the Manager was exceptional on making things right. Valet, was on point, above and beyond great!
I look forward to my visits here every year, and this hotel consistently exceeds expectations. The customer service is truly top tier I was genuinely shocked and impressed when the front desk agent remembered me, even though I only visit twice a year! The atmosphere is incredibly secluded and peaceful, especially during the Christmas season when the beautiful decorations make the property feel magical. My only constructive suggestion is to place a water container near the steam room, perhaps in the hall by the gym and locker room. Hydration is crucial after the steam room, and having water immediately accessible would be a great addition. Overall, I absolutely love this hotel and will continue to recommend it.
I recently stayed at the hotel for a yearly birthday/pool get away. Winnie at the front desk was super accommodating and welcoming. The rooms were cleaning happy they were able to get our rooms by the pool area. The pool temp was warm along with the pool area with temps outside dipping to -22 windchills. Devon at the restaurant/bar was just great too! One complaint...BRING BACK THE QUESIDILLAS! lol
