Cambria Hotel New Haven University Area

Hotel staff not the most friendly nor helpful. Paid almost $100 for parking for 3 nights and stayed over by an hour and had to pay an additional amount since parking is only through check out time. Furthermore the room wasn’t even the most cleanliness, traces of hair throughout the room and bedding. Mold and mildew in the shower, low water pressure, and broken shower door. When brought it to the front desk attention was told they’ll look into it and never heard anything back. Only thing that was good about this hotel was the location but don’t think I would ever stay here again.

Just stayed here for two nights during a trip to Yale. The hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable, though the heating seemed to be out to the test in the historic and unrelenting cold, though I was never uncomfortable in my room. I'd stay here again because it's affordable and particularly because the staff, specifically the guy who runs breakfast (maybe is the manager?) was so friendly. Really went out of his way to be kind and accommodating. I really appreciated it and it made a stressful visit a bit less so... so thanks (and thanks for the breakfast potatoes- you were right, they were great!).

Let me begin by stating I am not a huge reviewer. However, I believe the hotel and the experience myself and my 27 students had warrants one. After arriving in New Haven for a Yale Conference, we realized our initial hotel would not be sufficient nor compatible with what we needed. After leaving, we scrambled to find a place to stay and luckily we found this oasis. After speaking with Ed and his helpful staff, we were able to get rooms that were extremely clean, modern and safe with breakfast in the morning and an extremely easy transition into checking in and out. We felt so fortunate to find this place and are planning on coming back our next year in New Haven. We sincerely appreciate all staff members who helped us!

Stayed at Cambria for one night and it’s a very modern hotel with paid secured parking. This was my first time so I did not use amenities or eat at hotel but the room was very spacious and clean! There are no carpets in the room probably why it smelled amazing and front desk was very responsive and effective to any questions I did have.

I was so impressed with the Cambria Hotel!!! It was beautiful!! The reception area, the bar area, and our room were all so clean and welcoming!! I loved that there were no carpets in our room!! That’s the one thing that always bothered me about other hotel rooms! There was an ice machine close by our room and ordering delivery to the hotel was so easy!! I was a patient at Yale University hospital the next day and received a discount for our stay because of that! I would highly recommend the Cambria hotel!!

This hotel seemed to be in a safe area of town and was conveniently in walking distance to downtown. The room was very clean aside from the shower holding water due to drain clog. I was a little annoyed there wasn't a microwave in the room, but referring back to the list of utilities it is indeed not listed- but this is something you just expect a room to have, so I didn't even think to double check. Also, no fountain to refill water bottles was a bummer. The only real issue we had during our stay was the noise level. The walls are PAPER THIN and you could hear everything. Despite booking this room a month in advance, our room was right off the elevator. This meant every time people were going up and down throughout the night you heard all their conversations and noise. We also could hear every word to a 1am argument between the couple staying directly above us- which lasted off and on for two hours... Overall, the room and staff were great, but I wouldn't stay again purely because of the noice levels.

The staff was not very friendly. Initially the front desk staff placed us in a room that was already occupied. They were not apologetic. The shower was dirty upon arrival to unaccompanied room. Please there is an additional cost for parking that we had to walk to in the freezing cold and couldn’t find parking in the lot after paying for the parking lot. The staff was not very friendly.
