Vibey, moody bar with nonalcoholic options, Mexican food, lots of outdoor seating, nice bartenders, and a DJ that’s actually good! I got the chamomile lemonade (sparkling) and it was quite nice! Not too sweet or sour. The carne asada burrito was also not bad! It really filled me up as I was hungry. Sauces were nothing to write home about but the taquitos also looked yummy! Only complaint is the beans were a bit heavy on one side and were starting to fall out my burrito but it was still a clean meal. Very charming place even for a rainy night, there are umbrellas at each table, candles + heaters for light and warmth.
Sexy vibes and so well done. What a makeover, love the mood of the decor and lighting! Imaginative cocktails and NA options. So excited to make memories here ⚡❤️
Stoked to have this new spot in the neighborhood. The vibe is phenomenal. Love the music they play, and the decor is very thematic and cool. They did a great job with the patio space as well - plenty of covered seating and heaters/fire pits. Bartenders and bussers were attentive and friendly. I haven’t found a drink that has blown me away yet, but everything has been good and the creative packaging is a fun touch (capri-sun pouch, Nevermind album cover themed Jell-O shots). Tried a few food items as well - thought the taquitos were a solid deal, but weren’t as flavorful as I would like. The quesabirria on the other hand was very tasty. Came here for my birthday on a Friday with a large group of friends and it was a great time. We pulled up chairs around one of the fire pits, but there’s also an indoor booth that can accommodate a big group. All in all seems like a great place to hang out. Already been twice and will certainly be back again.
Cocktails and vibes were immaculate. The food was very disappointing, which is odd because Los Gorditos (who makes the food) is typically awesome. Ordered the nachos for $14- it was a pretty small portion and the beef and cheese on top were cold. The equites were just okay but also very small portion for $7. So all in all I'd go back for the drinks and vibes but would probably just stop by Los Gorditos separately going forward.
I dunno, this place feels pretty lame, honestly. I've walked by this place a few times on my way to Double Barrel, and decided to stop on for a beer.. $8 for a draft Modelo! That's crazy. They are $3 less than a mile up the street at Reel m' In. Tried to make very basic convo with the bar tenders, on a slow night, and they pretty much ignored me. Place just feels awkward and inviting, at least for me.
$8 for an old 14oz IPA on draft. The bartender told me they were working multiple jobs, which sucks to hear. Another faceless corporation taking over classic PDX spots, exploiting workers and doing the bare minimum to try to make money under late-stage capitalism. If this so-called gay bar wasn’t owned by a restaurant group, I’d give it five stars just for being a gay bar, but it’s not visibly gay in any way. Not even a flag on the window. It’s more like Century Bar energy. Exactly what I expected it to be tbh PS: they are playing an entire DMX album all the way through, who was notoriously homophobic. It also has skits in it and no one working is noticing that there is a phone call being played over the speakers and no music. Wow
The Wednesday happy hour is unbeatable BUT it took a full hour to get my order of a hot dog and 3 taquitos. Same with alot of people. People were canceling their food orders and some people straight up left waiting for their food.
