Customer Reviews
miniBar has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on over 377 reviews on Google
I have been told that people who possess many condiments are talented in specific, personal skills. If that were the case, and could be applied to businesses, this bar would be so lacking that it would be forced into celibacy. The problem all started when I asked for a hot dog with just chili. "We don’t do that", replied the apathetic bartender. When I then kindly asked for a hot dog with only ketchup, the bartender informed me they don’t have ketchup. Don’t have ketchup?! In this economy?! In this political state?!? When will the tragedies cease?? I’m all about respecting art- but when it comes to the creation of a hot dog, I believe there should be some more basic options outside of the two specific dogs listed on the sign. Sorry I don’t like mustard. Just a plain dog on bun for me, I guess.
Service sucked. I went in just to check it out because I have the day off tomorrow and heard that they had karaoke tonight. Found a spot at the bar and waited patiently. After about 15 minutes, the bartender was just serving one side of the bar and others who just walked up didn't have any wait. I kinda waved at the bar tender and she said she'll be right with me. Ok so I waited more. Then 2 people came up behind me (obviously regulars) she helped them. Then another different person came up and she greeted him and took his drink order. I got nothing but hate and dirty looks from the bartender then entire time. Was there for 20 minutes and then left.
Though I didn't try the food, the small two story venue made a positive impression. I went for a small set of mostly local musicians and enjoyed the intimacy of the small venue, reminiscent of other small bars I frequented during my slam poetry days. Worth checking out if you like small venues where you're up close and personal.
I would like to say this not a African American friendly place if you a person of color or any African descent or anyone who is Hispanic or any shade of brown I wouldn’t recommend going to a place like this and the guy at the door who was hired as " security" was Racially profiling customers
As a musician I don’t know that I would ever recommend playing here. I played here once, and the upstairs bartender was a jerk. She gave us a ted talk about how we were going to tip her before we even played the show. I want to point out that she was rude to almost every customer that walked in the door. My cousin came to see us play and we both went up to buy a drink and I said "how are you…?" She responded with, "how will you be tipping me?" It was very rude. My cousin asked her why she was rude and then ended up kicking my cousin out of the show. The only redemption was the sound guy was nice. 1 out of 5. I do not recommend and will never be back. I would also like to add this experience happened 4 years ago. Maybe they have done an overhaul.
Here on 11/3/24 to see Momovudu. Great show! First time attending a show here. Came to see Dead on a Sunday. It is a very small venue. Intimate is the correct term. The place is great for small up and coming acts. With two bars to keep attendees happy. Will definitely come here again.
did not eat but atmosphere was great bartender was great live music was great. we'll be back.
