Chez Charlie

Love chez and love a dusty dive bar, but seriously what is all over the blinds up front. Looks like a crime happened and no one cleaned up the blood splatter..? Seriously disturbing. Had to leave.

As a local, I love chez Charlie's and love that it's a dusty dive bar, but what the actual freak is all over the blinds in the front.? The blinds look like they were splattered with blood and not cleaned up after the crime...seriously concerning..?

We had sooooo much fun visiting this dive bar. Great atmosphere and cool people all around.

If you know me, you know I love a good dive — and Chez Charlie is it. Hands down my favorite bar in KC and the kind of place that feels like a second home, if your second home had stiff drinks, dim lighting, and a jukebox that slaps. It’s grungy in the best way, weird in all the right ways, and totally unbothered by the world outside. You can show up solo and feel like you belong, or stumble in with friends and somehow the night just clicks. The bartenders are cool without the fake smiles, the regulars are characters in the best sense, and there’s not a single inch of this place trying too hard — which is exactly why it works. Basically, if Chez Charlie isn’t your vibe, I’m not sure we’d get along.

Easily my favorite bar in Kansas City. Great bartenders, cheap beer, & a well curated 45 RPM jukebox.

Great place if you like dive bars and darts. They have a patio out back if you need some air or a smoke break. Never have had an issue with staff. I've had nice experiences popping in here alone and also brining a group of ten-ish people in.

Hands down the best "true" dive in midtown. Recently updated banquette, carpet, and bar stools, but they've retrained everything that's great about this old school dive. Hip, eclectic crowd. Friendly staff that makes you feel happy you walked in. Cheap drinks. You can't go wrong.
