Alvarium Beer Company

This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I've been to Alvarium before and my experience was consistently good. The brewery is located in a separate building and has a big parking lot. The place is huge - it has a big indoor space, a smaller indoor private space and two patios. The brewery is decorated with beehive items. The food options are basic, but there are always food trucks on site. I've tried all Alvarium beers - either on beer festivals, or during my brewery visits. And every time the beers were awesome. There is some style selection available - IPAs, Stouts, a lager, sours, hard seltzers. They also serve beer flights of 4 or 5 so you can try everything. The beers are not rotated often - the majority of the taplist was the same as the year before, but I believe they have a separate line for their experimental beers. I've enjoyed everything I tried during my visit. My favorites in the taproom were Camp Cluster (Imperial Stout) and "Pouring for the neighbors: Wicked Basic" (Spiced pumpkin beer), both have immensely rich and satisfying taste. But I also remember their limited editions of Clusternana (Imperial porter) and BABF Exclusive (Imperial Stout) which were beyond awesome. I do recommend this brewery to anyone who loves a good beer.

Alvarium as a nice setting with good beer and they allow pets. I like their the atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Stopped in here to rest after a long drive. The staff was awesome and welcomed us and our dogs in. We had a great time talking with them and they took great care of our whole group! The dogs loved the attention and the water and treats. If we were local to the area this would one hundred percent be our usual hang-out. The taproom is a cool spot to relax and had a lot of options for entertainment like board games, pinball, and TVs. And the beers were top-notch. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be back. If you are in the area, you should stop in too!

The team here really has a good thing going. They start with great beer- and surround it with a great atmosphere in which to enjoy it. I was super impressed with the entire operation. Definitely recommend for celebrating an occasion, like we did, or just a fun afternoon. Just don’t plan a short visit, because you won’t want to leave!

Had a good time on a Saturday evening. Not extremely busy. Ordered 2 flights to try. Plenty of seating. Outdoor and indoor. The staff was friendly. They allow dogs. Great atmosphere.

Great brewery. Lots of beer on tap and to go. There is something for everyone, even wine drinkers. Bring your own food or get something from the food truck. Check their schedule for events like music and trivia. Very dog friendly too.

We recently rented the B-Side room at Alvarium Brewery and it was such a great time! We celebrated John's (aka Grizz) retirement from Better Built Basements. The space accommodates a nice size party we had about 30-40 people. Taylor hosted the bar for us, she is amazing! Always happy! Taylor was very helpful with scheduling the party and set up. It was so easy and everyone had a great time- as always at Alvarium! Definitely check them out for your next party!
