Austin Boardwalk

I enjoyed beautiful scenery while walking over the water. Although the water below the boardwalk is shallow and has some pervasive green plants and blue-green algae, there was no unpleasant odour.

Great for both daytime and nighttime walking. The boardwalk is a section of the Ann and Roy Butler hike and bike trail that extends east to west on both sides of Lady Bird Lake. Fair warning at night, although the boardwalk itself is lit up, the sections of on-land trail that break up the boardwalk are not lit, so best to have a headlamp or something if walking it at night. It’s a heavily trafficked area though so it still feels safe even after dark.

One of my most favorite places to jog in Austin. Beautiful views of the lake and the skyline. Clean trail. Water fountains along the way. There are several entry spots along Lakeshore Drive which you can enter. Also along the trail there are a couple of places you can rent kayaks if you wish. Plenty of turtles to see along the hike. Highly recommend.

Definitely my favorite place in Austin, it has great scenic views, This trail, the view, the lake, this place right here made me fall in love with Austin. It is a must see. Runs from East to West. A never ending trail or so it seems. Fairly easy walk on the boardwalk or smooth paths, mostly large enough for runners and bicyclists to pass by.

Magnificent natural environment in the heart of the Austin concrete jungle. If you can make it to the bridge over the Colorado River, the views are terrific. One of the places everyone should add to their itinerary when visiting Austin.

great place to exercise, watch cityscape, bird photography, and people watching. I was pleasantly surprised with different birds I saw here, this place seems rich in biodiversity. The most popular section of boardwalk is 3 miles long and there are plenty of places to rest/stop along the way.

Great place for a walk or biking! Beautiful views of downtown from across the river both during the day or night time. A must do if you're on Austin to enjoy the nice weather.
