There’s a sling in every room! Inn Leather offers the most affordable prices of the gay resorts. Breakfast offerings include coffee, OJ, sweetened yoghurt, and various breakfast/granola bars. The pool is comfortably warm in the daylight sun. Since the last time we’ve stayed here, the place has developed a definite need for some serious maintenance and cleaning. Oh, we were surprised that the overhead lights and ceiling fan didn’t work. They tried to fix the electrical themselves but ended up calling an electrician. He couldn’t fix the problem at the junction box. Darn, he left the exposed wires hanging from the wall and extra parts on the sofa when he left. I applaud their efforts to make the room livable at night (we stayed in winter, with long nights). I’m sure the busy honeybee workers will get the repairs done before the next guests check-in. Shucks, our TV remote wasn’t working when we arrived, so they replaced (YES!) the TV. WOW, that was impressive Southern hospitality: I’ve never received such service anyplace I’ve stayed before! Alas, the HDMI ports weren’t working on the replacement TV. Oh Well! We are so grateful that they issued a 1/3 refund for the situation with the room. Much obliged for your thoughtfulness! Boo, looks like the hot tub may be permanently closed: it wasn’t working. I’m not sure if there’s a pattern here or not, but it had been closed for repairs the last two times we stayed here. Each room has an assigned FREE parking spot in front. Please remember to ask for a daily towel and/or sheet change. The grounds include walking paths with benches, slings, and an (out of shape) outdoor gym. The pool and its poolside benches with the thatched hutch are the cod piece of this gay, clothing optional resort (pack twice as many jock straps as you think you’ll need).
I ended up bumping into a very good friend of mine along the outer land property boundaries and it was his birthday. He rented the dungeon and it turned out to be quite à birthday for him. The staff was very accommodating and enjoyed many of the amenities offered here.
I had a great time at Inn Leather. Doug and the rest of the staff were amazing! The property is clean and well aid out. My room was great, and I got to see some of the other room options in person. I'll definitely be back here again next time I visit Fort Lauderdale.
Staff is very friendly and so are the guests! As a local, I love getting a day pass. Very excited about my first stay here.
I had a great experience. Doug the manager was always on hand and if not one of the 4 other employees who were nearly always running around cleaning up after breakfast, maintaining the grounds were within hailing distance. It's kind of a gay-shabby type place. Clean but some of the fixtures are kind of old. There's plenty of hot water and the pool is heated and open at night. The breakfast is all pre-packaged stuff because of the laws, Doug told me, there's a Dunkin donuts within a 5 minute walk and a Starbucks if you want something more. Two outdoor slings and a very useful picnic table plus hammocks and other places to "relax" make it a great place to stay. Rates are very reasonable. It's not the 4 Seasons but it's unique and relaxing. Stayed for three days and only left a few times to eat.
We recently stayed at Inn Leather for four nights and enjoyed it. It’s nothing fancy but well worth the price. The pool area is fantastic for getting some sun and the other guests are friendly. Taco Bell, Starbucks, and Dunkin are nearby with other places are longer walk or short drive away. We would definitely stay there again.
The Good:|Very close to the airport as well as the cruise terminals. Plenty of places to eat and/or shop nearby. The staff was kind and accommodating, and the price was reasonable (in comparison to surrounding hotels). Also, it's a quick Uber ride to the Wilton Manors area. The pool water was clean and seemed to be well maintained, as did the grounds (for the most part). There will always be a medley of body types and ages.||The Bad:|The rooms are about what you'd expect in a place like this so I was ready to give them a pass on that...but providing no bedding other than a thin sheet is unacceptable. I shouldn't have to buy my own bedding after paying to stay there. Doors and drawers wouldn't close all the way (I guess warped from the humidity?). No ice machines or ice makers. Some of the day-passers can get a bit "sketchy" in terms of health/cleanliness and their ability to take "no" for an answer.||The Ugly:|If you like buying drugs from random tweakers who aren't staying there, but know the door code, go for it. The ones that don't know the code will hang around by the gate and try to piggyback behind paying guests. There are sometimes more tweakers than paying guests. They wander the property trying to sell drugs, or random stuff out of their backpack (in my case, they tried to sell me a broken watch) like cockroaches. Not only are they an annoyance for that, but they also come in and make use of the showers, the outdoor restroom, seating areas, etc. It wasn't uncommon for them to knock on each of the cabin doors in the middle of the night. Staff could quickly resolve this issue with more stringent policing of their own property, regularly changing the door code, and a few security cameras around the perimeter, but they appear to turn a blind eye. My partner and I felt unsafe staying here...and we've stayed in some pretty questionable places in our travels! As nice as the staff was to us, we will not be staying here again nor would we recommend Inn Leather if you're looking for a place to let your freak flag fly in safety.
