Lakeside Landing

Beautiful part of Lorain and Lake Erie.The wind was strong from the east and I was surprised to see people surfing or attempting to. The pier and lighthouse are very scenic as well as the wetlands.

There's a nice hike through a tall grass/cotton tail area that borders Lake Erie. It's really peaceful because all you hear is the wind and the waves. Plan for a 45 minute loop which ends on a pier, which leads to the pier feeding the marina proper. Only downside is a lack of a bathroom.

It’s very pretty. It’s fun for bird watching. People are fishing and laughing and look terribly happy* *But for the love of all you hold dear, if you’re going to walk around the loop put in some bug spray - the industrial stuff. Put on more than you need - no, more than that. If you don’t smell like you took a bath in it by the time you’re done you haven’t done enough - the mosquitoes are not messing around and they want to *eat you* I don’t even think they want blood anymore I’m pretty sure they’re digging for the marrow at this point So as I say, it’s very very pretty, and it looks like a lot of people are enjoying fishing out in the pier…. but good grief prepare yourself

Nice place to walk and see the sunset. There are benches and swings around .

May 24 2025 Great place for photography. Beautiful lighthouse that was built in the 1910s. However, the trails through the marsh are a no-go zone in the spring and summer until the mosquitos die off. They quite literally block out the sun there are so many of them. They cover your car when it is parked and they gather right up alongside the pier walkway.
