The Rainbow Cactus

I recently celebrated my 50th birthday at Rainbow Cactus. This was such an important event and they delivered just that. Because I don’t live in Virginia Beach, all of the planning had to take place via phone and email. This understandably caused a bit of stress for both of us! For my part, I gave a very detailed proposal and DJ (my event contact) did everything he could to make it all happen within the budget I approved. Once I got to town, I was able to come in to go over the plan and finalize everything. The night of the event, I was able to arrive a bit early and decorate. I brought a lot of my own decorations, but they helped me out by providing white tablecloths as well as these little gadgets to build balloon towers with. (This was all extra things they had from previous parties, so make sure you ask if they are available if that’s something you would want to use!) Let’s talk food. DJ sent me a menu that he and the chef had come up with. I wasn’t incredibly concerned with the food, other than I wanted it to be a tad elevated and left it to their discretion. I was BLOWN AWAY. Food just kept coming out! It was INCREDIBLE. My guests loved the Ham & Cheese Sliders (sounds simple but so good), the salad bar, and the pastries. There was so much food that after my guests had their fill, I was able to invite the pool league over to partake. A large part of the party included audio and video, which they worked with me to make wonderful. There was a tad bit of volume issues, but nothing too extreme. (Honestly, my guests were so cocktailed within the first hour, I don’t know that they noticed!) After my film screening, karaoke was scheduled. The crowd was so welcoming and it all became one big party. This was such a great experience for not only myself, but my guests. Thanks so much to the Rainbow Cactus for a night I will remember for a long time. PS: They host events featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race queens! Follow them to see who’s coming. Pretty much the main and only ️‍ spot in VB. However! They are extremely nice, caring, and genuinely love what they all do! Bartenders aren’t rude or short, bouncers keep their eyes peeled and are welcome to questions, and the food is hot and delicious! Will definitely keep visiting!

I celebrated my birthday at Rainbow Cactus and it could not have been more perfect! The energy was amazing from the moment I walked in. The staff were friendly, the drinks were on point, and the music kept the vibe alive all night. The drag performances were fabulous and made the whole night feel extra special. It’s such a welcoming space, full of laughter, color, and community. If you’re looking for a place to dance, celebrate, and feel completely at home, this is it. Thank you for making my birthday unforgettable! ✨

We always have an amazing time here when we come! Fridays are the day to be here. I love the diversity on these days! Quite a few POC show up ! Great drinks & great people!!!

Went here for a night with my friends, it was a little quieter but great fun! I can't mind the name of the cocktail, but it was excellent! And the bartender fella was lovely too. Visited July 2024

Great place for night time fun with my LGBTQ family. What night did we go? Well, karaoke night of course! Great music, great bar service, and they even have great food! I definitely recommend checking it out. Next time, I want to play pool!
