This was probably the best hotel experience I had the front desk. Workers were really nice to me. I saw the manager actually go around the building and help out which was really nice. I had a shared room that had a locker in it too, which made me feel safe locking my items up and the dorm style beds were really cozy plus the bar had really good drinks

Queen size Room- I’d rate it just below average. Stay was ok, served as a place to sleep nothing more. Do not book if you expect "luxury". 2 or 3 star at best. We had the tag on display saying ‘please clean’ but not once had towels or bedding changed. Bed was comfortable. Room was cold, as air-con could not be set above 87F, and had to request an additional blow heater. The decor and room itself very dated, flaking paint on the roof. Checking in was quick, no issue with the staff whatsoever. Think they probably would’ve freshened the room up if I had asked instead of relying on the door tag. But it does defeat the purpose of having a tag. In all not a bad stay, serves a purpose, nothing luxurious

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I stayed for four nights during extremely cold weather, and the heater in my room did not work. I contacted the front desk and the manager every single day. They kept saying someone would come, but no one ever did. They moved me to another room, but the heater there was also not working properly and was not enough to survive the cold. The room was very dusty, and I have a dust allergy. When I complained, they showed no responsibility or concern. The door did not lock properly and kept getting stuck, which made me feel unsafe. The room was extremely dark with almost no outside light. There was only one power outlet near the bed, and no proper charging point. I had to charge my phone in the bathroom, which is completely unacceptable. Housekeeping was another nightmare. I had to call every single day just to get them to come, even though they clearly understood the situation. Their service was slow, unorganized, and completely unreliable. The front desk manager and staff were rude, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. They ignored my complaints, gave empty responses, and did nothing to resolve any issues. To make things worse, I still have not received my refund. For the price and reputation of this hotel, this experience is unbelievable. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid this place.

I went on this trip with a friend. We were intrigued by the ambiance of the lobby and the bar that was featured. It was in a great location so we thought it would be perfect. When we arrived, the hotel room was absolutely FILTHY and DISGUSTING. I don’t think it had ever been cleaned. The heat didn’t work and the room temp was absolutely freezing. Like had to wear my jacket and gloves inside. We finally asked to switch to a room where the heat worked. That room was even colder. And filthier. If that’s even possible. The staff was very pleasant so I feel bad writing this review but I felt absolutely disgusting. I washed everything that entered that hotel room when I got home.

It’s a cute place, and you pay for what you get. Bring ear plugs. Our room was super loud, and right next to a parking garage. The room was cozy, and the updated aspects felt like a nice addition. Our bathroom had a leak and it made the bathroom smell like pee. Couldn’t really use the bathroom trash can because it needed to catch the water. Let the staff know when we left, but didn’t say much about it. Hope it gets fixed. The breakfast bar was awesome, literally the bar in the front. Great coffee and a good little breakfast. Lastly, the bar in the back is not to be missed, super fun, with an amazing staff. Thank you for having Ron de Barilito on the back bar!

You get what you pay for. I didn't set my bars high so I enjoyed my stay. Stayed in the queen bed room for 4 days. Pro: -The location is great. Close to subway, Trader Joe's and everything you need. -Relatively cheap in chicago downtown. -Fun old building. -the bathroom is clean with plenty of hot water during cold days -at the begging I thought the room was very dark until I found that you can twist the switch to make the room brighter. -the internet is super fast. -the mattress is comfortable. Con: -Heating was broken during the -15C weekend, but the engineer brought me a portable heater that worked quite well. -the room isn't clean, you can see dusts and dirts everywhere. -the hotel is old, my bathroom broke when I was using the hair dryer. -Housekeeping didn't change the bedsheet or clean the room during my 4 days stay (only made my bed 1 time). They only came in to pick up trash and replace towels. -the sink was leaking which made the bathroom floor wet. Overall, it's a convenient and old place.

service was amazing, the workers were very friendly. i didnt know i booked a hostel room (my fault for not looking into it) and they put me in an all female room as i was a lone traveling young woman. room was small but for the $50 i spent, it was good enough for me, i just needed a room to crash into after a concert. the location is amazing, north side chicago which is very safe and has a ton of things to do. i highly reccomend this hotel if youre looking for a cheap but decent quality hotel. my only complaint is their latte machine was down but things happen, i still could get a drip coffee and some cream and sugar.
