Definitely a fun little dive! My friend took me there while they were having a golden retriever meet up event. That was very fun yet may not be for everyone! The place was absolutely filled over capacity but no one seemed to care lol. $30 for 5 beers is far too high. But if you’re ever in the mood for a quick drink it isn’t the worst place.

If you're in Chicago with a pup, Cody’s Public House is a must. We hit their Valentine’s Day "Pup Fiesta" and the vibe was 10/10. It’s rare to find a spot that’s truly dog-friendly inside and out. Great drinks, awesome crowd, and they even had the USA Men’s Hockey game on. 🇺🇸🏒 Bear and I will definitely be back. Best dog bar in the city, hands down! 🐾🍻

Dog friendly bar. I lived across the street 30 years ago took my first dog there. I moved away but every time I come back to visit I bring my dog. Great selection of beer, whether draft or bottle, or can you'll find something you like. There is a surprising amount of space, courtyard seating, as well as a small ante-room where you can hide and drink beer when it's lawn mowing day. I miss Gene the old owner, he was a solid guy and of course his dog was named Cody. The new owners are doing a great job of maintaining the quality of this neighborhood gem.

You know when you go to bed and wake up after having the best night sleep and having the best dream ever. That's Cody's. They've got everything you want. Dogs, pool (billards), darts (not the cigs, I usually bring those), free popcorn, cold beer, slots, more beer, barstools, big buck hunter, even more beer, golden tee, touch tunes. It's a great place to relax and have some beers.

As a huge dog lover, I really wanted to love this place as it's "dog friendly" but I'm not sure I'd say it's for people that actually care about dogs. The music and atmosphere was so loud, the dogs that were there looked visibly uncomfortable and anxious. There were drunk folks stumbling up to dogs and roughly petting them without any permission, and another clearly drunk guy tossing his small dog in the air when a touchdown happened. It's just not like other "dog friendly" bars I've visited that are much more low key and catered toward creating a comfortable environment for dogs to actually hang out. The service was good and the place itself was cool, but the whole dog thing ended up bumming the scene. We drank our beers and got out as quickly as possible.

Great place to go early. Good beer and spirit choices. Great staff. Quiet early, lively later. Hopping for Cubs games, before, during, and after. Bring your dog if they get along with others, or pet one if you don't have one. Bigger inside than you think.

Cody's Public House is a great neighborhood bar with a friendly vibe and a solid drink selection. The atmosphere is relaxed, with plenty of TVs for catching a game and a nice outdoor patio when the weather is good. Service is usually quick and attentive, making it an easy spot to hang out with friends. It’s not fancy, but that’s part of its charm.
