Goat Hill Tavern
Goat Hill Tavern stands out as a beloved dive bar in Costa Mesa, blending a laid-back atmosphere with a lively energy. Known for its extensive beer selection on tap, the spot attracts crowds—especially during sports events or live DJ sets—where the music and camaraderie create a dynamic experience. Staff are often praised for their warmth and attentiveness, enhancing the welcoming vibe.
The venue carries a nostalgic charm, serving as a reunion hub for locals and a casual gathering spot. While it leans into its unpretentious roots, some note inconsistencies in cleanliness or service quality. Ideal for beer lovers and social groups, its lack of food options may deter others, but its central location and historic reputation keep it a staple in the community.

Lots of beers on tap. Got the colors light and it was crisp. Bartenders addressed meas soon as I came in and it was a little crowded. That was amazing. Eagles and 49ers were playing so the crowds was having a good time
First time coming to this establishment and I really enjoyed the impression that it gave off. The music selection was really happening and created the necessary laid back vibes that it provided. The staff, Isaac and Jake, were phenomenal with providing exceptional service and were super friendly! We didnt get the opportunity to order food, but we enjoyed the joint so much that we will try it next time.
No food here so can’t judge. It’s a very fun place with a lot of history. Good place to hang out but the no smoking laws have not reached this place yet. Cigarettes and grass were bro g smoked constantly. I thought this was a drinking establishment not a shooting gallery. Very low class, awful.
Growing up in Orange County, goat hill tavern can be recognized as the reunion spot for high school (about 3 miles away). my brother just had his 20 year reunion and my theory was right. As it is a nostalgic and central dive bar in Costa Mesa, I do enjoy coming here for a beer with friends. I came just recently and they had great service while their was a Ufc fight
Why is there a roach around our beers? 2nd time here…do not come unless you want roach beer. Only imagine the back bar.
Very very vibrant bar. Great lil dive bar with lots of energy. The dj plays really good music. Good spot to hang out. No food served there.
Dive bar with less than stellar pours. No food for sale, although you can bring your own in. Dirty, stinky bathrooms. Trust me when I say that 3 stars means that this place is awesome.
