Max's Tavern

This little bar has been a campus staple for many years, I've watched a lot of local bands perform here and the small venue hasn't let me down. Always a different crowd, good drinks, and fun atmosphere. Cool place to hangout with friends!

One of the oldest bars in the entire area that's still going strong! Hell my Dad and my grandfather even when he was young was a regular here. Use to be rather a small bar but they bought the other side and the place is looking amazing with now 3 times the space if not more with just as expanded back area! I don't go as often as I use to but I highly recommend this place any day of the week to anyone old or new to the area. Located downtown by campus on 13th and Patterson. Awesome staff, great atmosphere, good fun times even with karaoke, and all the free popcorn and peanuts you can eat to soak up those drinks lol. Keep up the great work Max's!

Best bar of all time! Every employee there is amazing, Skyler, Remy, Garrett, Michael and Sarah run that bar like the navy, your glass will never be empty. Sarah will hands down take care of you!!

I love maxs it’s so fun BUT the bartenders are bad. they take way too long to make drinks. for a college bar you should be hiring bartenders who are skilled not 21 year olds who are taking 10 mins to make one drink mean while 100 people are in line. especially if there’s a cover.

Had an 80th birthday party for my brother there. He used to bartend there 45+ years ago. I should have video'd the Bloody Mary showing probably a dozen ingredients. The food was good and the staff was very friendly.

Food was good, I got the mill street cheeseburger and it was pretty nice. They did get my order wrong though, forgetting to add any sauce and the staff member bringing the food seemed tired. Overall it's good though

This is my favorite bar. The people here are friendly. Heard the place got remodeled and I was really concerned. Just came by today for the first time in years, and thankfully it's the same vibe as always. Glad to see the chess table and string lights made it through the remodel! Cheers to another 100 years of beers at Max's!
