Agaves Ultra Lounge

📍 Gay bars in Long Beach

4.7

This establishment offers a dynamic experience blending casual dining and evening entertainment within a welcoming setting. Known for its flavorful menu, it features standout dishes like savory nachos and hearty burritos, complemented by a lively atmosphere that transitions seamlessly into a disco vibe after dark. The staff is praised for their attentiveness, ensuring a smooth experience from ordering to service.

With a focus on affordable access, the venue avoids cover charges and maintains a cozy, inclusive environment. While ideal for social gatherings, its dual-purpose layout—restaurant by day, dance floor by night—can occasionally lead to crowded walkways. Ideal for those seeking a mix of great food and nightlife without the typical bar scene hassles.

FAITH THE FOODIE

Omg.... The drinks and food are great here. I had the chicken nachos and shrimp taquitos for my appetizer. Lets just say, I will most definitely be back fast and not slow. Awesome...The atmosphere is a whole vibe. The waitress and bartender were amazing...I ordered the chicken burrito and rice and beans to go. When i got home and tasted all that yumminess, I was ready to order another 1 the next day.

I neither drink nor am I a regular at bars/clubs but this past Saturday, I decided to check 4 establishments in Downtown Long Beach, Agaves Ultra Lounge being one of them. I came here after checking out 3 others, and while the venue was the smallest of the 4, it had the best lightning and great people. The music was fun, people were great, and the venue is usually a restaurant that gets turned into a Disco at night. No cover fee for entrance and that's about it.

This was the worst Groupon experience in all the years I've used Groupon. Went there to celebrate my Daughter's birthday. I had a Groupon for $100 worth of food. It said we didn't need reservations but when we arrived we were met at the door by the rudest doormat in history. He told us we did need reservations. I asked if we could sit at the bar and he just grunted. We walked in and the music was beyond deafening. As we made our way to the bar we were almost knocked down by people dancing around not watching where they were going. It was a walkway, not a dance floor. When we finally made it up to the bar we sat down and the server came over. It was so loud I practically had to yell for her to hear me. I said, "I have a Groupon for $100 for food, can we order it here?" She said, "just a minute." She came back and said, "yes, but you have to spend $120." What a rip off. No way was I going to pay more, there was nowhere it said that. We left, and I contacted Groupon and told them. It's usually difficult to get your $$ back, but after they heard my nightmare story they immediately refunded me. If I could give it negative stars I would.

1-Star Review This bar completely failed to deliver even the most basic level of service last night. My girlfriend and I stood at the bar — clearly visible — for over 15 minutes. Multiple staff members saw us but didn’t say a single word. No "Hi," no "I’ll be right with you," not even eye contact. Just cold indifference. When my girlfriend finally asked one of the younger male staff if we could order, he told her he only handles tables — which was fine. She politely asked if he could let one of the female bartenders know. But the two women behind the bar, who weren’t even busy, acted like we didn’t exist. They looked irritated, unmotivated, and completely uninterested in doing their jobs. I’ve never seen such blatant disrespect from a place that expects people to spend their hard-earned money there. The way we were ignored and looked at was unacceptable. If your staff can’t manage a simple acknowledgment or a smile, maybe they’re in the wrong line of work. I’ve been to plenty of busy, chaotic bars where staff still manage to treat customers with respect and professionalism. There’s no excuse for this kind of attitude or neglect. I won’t be back — and honestly, management should take a hard look at who they’re hiring, because behavior like this drives customers away for good.

Great place great music. Bartenders need more training can’t even make a well balanced margarita. Margarita tasted like some sour juice didn’t taste any alcohol was super sober and I order 2. But the bartenders definitely took care of their LBC locals loyal customers as they should cause they were spending.

Im not gonna piss to the bank about 2 dollars; but just know if you come here and give the server a cash tip, they'll still add one on your card at the end of the night... and thats after adding gratuity. Pretty sure thats illegal

This is about their restaurant next door. We dined here on July 12th around 6 PM. The waitress with black hair, who was serving the table near the door (between both entrances), stole from us. She said she could only do three separate tabs. I had two items, which she charged to my cousin’s tab. When, she saw I had cash, she claimed my cousin hadn’t paid and charged me again. Once we got home, my cousin asked for the cash to cover my items, only to realize she had already paid for them. We were charged twice for the same items, and the waitress pocketed the cash. She also never gave me or my cousin a receipt. From now on, I’ll always make sure to get one. This is ridiculous and completely unacceptable. I’m beyond angry and will never return. If anyone mentions having a birthday or event here, which happens often, I’ll make sure they hear about this experience in hopes they’d change their mind. Regardless, I won’t be back. That waitress is a thief. I want my money back!
