Queer/Bar
Queer Bar, a long-standing fixture in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood, is renowned for its festive atmosphere, particularly during holidays. The venue is a community hub known for its lively drag shows and cozy ambiance.
However, the bar's layout poses challenges for accessibility and viewing performances. Additionally, the environment can feel dominated by specific groups, which may not align with the inclusive spirit some patrons expect from a queer-friendly space.

Queer Bar... it's an institution on the Hill. Right now, the holiday vibes are out of this world, I have to say. I'd come here more if the drag shows weren't so deafening, but it's a really lovely community space with great vibes all the time. Right now though, it's the best place I can think to feel outrageously festive, cozy, happy, and to have a lovely time.
I wish there was another bar in Seattle that was the ""main"" drag bar. I know it’s not their fault the shape of the space but it is a MISERABLE venue for a drag show. The layout of the whole place is abysmal not to mention completely inaccessible. Yes there is a ramp to the stage but regardless there would be no space for a wheelchair. I went here alone to see one of my favorite drag queens, as a friend had bailed on me. They should rename this place gay™️/bar. Gay men take up so much space they have no problem edging out queer femmes. I couldn’t even place my arm on a standing bar without getting nasty looks from these dudes. Every space I moved to around the venue I was glared at or asked to move. It was really disappointing and I have no desire to go back here regardless of who performs. This is not, in my opinion, a queer friendly bar. It’s for Gay Men because they’ve dominated the space…as men do. They have no awareness of the physical space they take up. It’s garbage that this bar is advertised as queer. Its not, it’s male dominated. Also I prepaid online tickets for 35$ each and at the venue the folks ahead of me paid 20$ at the door. That’s the opposite of how MOST venues operate.
I was actually roofied at this bar and someone left with me falling down on the ground, clearly disheveled and drunk before putting me into his car out front. I heard a man ask if I was okay, but no one at this bar intervened. I was 25 when this happened, I think. Any other bar where I've been so drunk that I'm falling on the ground, the bartender is going to intervene or something. I don't feel safe going back here and haven't since.
I will always recommend queer/bar to everyone I know looking for a great drag experience, great drinks, and great music. It can be hard to find a place that hits the right balance of nostalgic hits and modern/contemporary music that keeps the dance floor popping, but queer/bar never misses. The drinks are also very TASTY which is much appreciated 😁
We were late on Saturday night and didn’t want to wait in line. So we were back for cold beers Tuesday evening, good selection of cocktails & eats on the menu. Clean, well-kept, fresh decore, comfy environment with a variety of seating areas: booths, small tables & chairs, bench seating, and the bar. Great ambient music. Small well-lit dance floor and if the dance music is as good as the background sounds, this will be a great place to dance on the weekend
No customer service in the category of communication. I’ve used their contact us form on their website multiple times and they are not contacting me back. No phone number to call anyone. No email to contact anyone. They have rudely kept my money from a cancelled reservation and are not contacting me back with my multiple messages. I will not be attending anything Queer/Bar related ever again.
The person at the door was extremely rude, making it quite unpleasant to be there from the beginning on. The prices for shows, events etc are not always stated in flyers etc so if you are not familiar with the place you are up for a surprise, as seats are spare and the prices for the different "areas" where you can't even see anything going on are... Something. A pity to miss the performers, but would not want to be there ever again
