Very lovely place, with a serene view of the vast landscape of Seattle and the surrounding areas. At sunset, on a clearer day, it is particularly spectacular, with the fiery a golden horizon and the mountains in the distance. It can be a little expensive, but considering the view and the fact of it being in Seattle, it's really not that bad. As a non-drinker, I appreciated the inventive non-alcoholic options. The food is hearty and substantive: It will not change your life, but it is utterly enjoyable and delightful. This is a great place to come for a celebration, and that is the occasion on which I came here, to celebrate the achievement of a very good friend of mine. The atmosphere is hip but not insufferably so, and I really recommend sitting outside if you can, even in slightly colder weather. Inside can become quite loud and raucous, especially as the night proceeds, so plan accordingly. This is a gem of the U district that I walked past hundreds of times without understanding that it existed. If you want a delightful experience while staying in the u district, I highly recommend this place.
The most incredible view! Their rooftop deck is amazing, you can walk around the whole perimeter and take in this unique view. Lots of tables and couch seating inside and outside. A fun atmosphere too. Their cocktails are absolutely delicious and beautiful, the whisky cure-all was my favorite. The snacks were great too! The cheesy crab dip and MC sampler platter were perfect. And the service was so great….everyone checked in on us to make sure we were happy and provide feedback on the cocktails. We really appreciated the friendly service.
the hostesses who seated me Was absolutely amazing she made my night legitimately as soon as she and I started chatting The view is the big part it’s absolutely stunning from the rooftop even more so during Sunsets and Sunny days as many Other reviews about this establishment will say also the servers and waitresses are extremely kind and anyone oriented so big plus their Cheap drink options food costs a bit more but is very worthwhile It really doesn’t matter if you’re here to chill/ whatever every single staffer makes sure you’re taken care of another major + so do please plan to make multiple visits as I said earlier best time is sunset
This is great spot for a drink and a view. With that said, I would never eat here, and with the drinks being $24 with the added gratuity, I only come here on special occasions and I only enjoy one. The view is stunning, but I will also add that it is one of the biggest shames that there was a high rise built in front of what used to be the best view of Mount Rainier in the entire city. I have no idea how the hotel & bar (and city, to be honest) let this happen, but maybe there was nothing they could do. I have been a customer since 2019, the service has always been amazing but sadly the space has progressed to more of a froo-froo hotel bar than what it used to be. Photo of the old view of mount rainier before 5 high rises were added to u-district, circa 2019.
The mountaineering club has beautiful atmosphere, amazing views of downtown Seattle, and decent drinks but the food we had was awful. Everything was pricey ($20 and up basically) but the food was actually too salty to eat. The best dish we had was the veggie platter, which is telling. Do not get the food if you care about your heart lol. Also do NOT get mocktails unless you want a sugar bomb. Enjoy the views or the heated patio if it’s not too cold out.
We made reservations here before attending a conedy show right across the street from The Neptune Theater. Fabulous food and drinks. Small food menu but it packs a punch! Absolutely incredible views of Bellevue and Seattle.
The Mountaineering Club in Seattle is an excellent rooftop bar that truly embraces its atmosphere. It offers a thoughtfully curated selection of drinks and a refreshingly unpretentious food menu that pairs perfectly with the stunning panoramic views. Whether you're taking in the city skyline or gazing at the distant mountains, the setting is unbeatable. The relaxed yet refined ambiance makes it a perfect spot for both casual outings and special occasions. With quality cocktails, satisfying bites, and breathtaking scenery, it’s a place that exceeds expectations while staying true to its essence. A must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy Seattle from above!
