Black Hart of Saint Paul

Heads up! cash only cover may be required to enter on weekends. Make sure to check website I'm sure it's an alright bar, it's been recommended to me by friends many times. Though, It sucks to find about the cash only cover after driving a good distance into the city to check out the place and I haven't seen a review mention this before

Horrible time at black heart, there is no semblance of making new patrons feel welcome, they let there regulars act anyway towards new comers and disregard there actions. Simply for using a pool stick that was in with the rest I had been harassed and stick ripped out of hand after playing for 20 min for it being someone’s and after grabbing two more asking if I was able to use them, they push me off the table and I didn’t get to finish my match I was in the middle of playing and when bringing this to the male bartender he disregarded saying "they’re regulars, they come weekly". If this is how this bar is going to conduct themselves I will never be going back and the group of 8 people I came with will never be coming back. The night was 12/16/2025 edit: thank you to response of the owner but sadly I will not.

So lame. Most unfriendly bartender in the profession's history! Would not take my order and walked away numerous times just to be a jerk...well don't go here! Save your time and spare yourself the disappointment... unless you are into pain and suffering then this place is perfect. Dante must have been as disgusted as I was because surely this bar and the bartender would be a very memorable character on one of the Planes of Hell and to spite the bartender back he never wrote a single letter or syllable about Black Hart of St Paul. Lol Good one Dante!

I feel fortunate that Black Hart of Saint Paul is located in Minnesota. Black Hart of Saint Paul demonstrates clear, consistent values and shows solidarity with the Minnesota community, even when that makes it difficult for a bar. Much appreciation to Black Hart of Saint Paul and the staff for supporting the community.

We (Visiting Austin FC fans) were welcomed with extremely open arms for a post match celebration. We watched women's sports and made new friends. Thanks for being awesome! I'll be back the next time I roll through town to be sure!

I love this place! The patio is one of the best around—perfect for relaxing with friends or enjoying community events. The service is always friendly, the vibe is welcoming, and the owner clearly cares about both the bar and the neighborhood. A true gem.

Thanks to Tony, hard pass. I don’t think I’ve ever given a one star review. I feel crappy doing it bc I love what this bar stands for - equal rights, women, LGBTQ, inclusive sports culture, etc. That said, I can say with certainty that I have never been treated this rudely at any sort of establishment. I popped in while waiting for my partner to finish work. It coincided closely w the end of the Loons game. Sat at the bar. 4 people at "bar line" when I walked in. Everyone sitting at bar has full drinks, chatting w bartender. Bartender sneers, "I’m not serving you unless you get in line." Okay. I understand bars have policies. I’m not in a hurry. BUT there are better, politer, MORE PROFESSIONAL ways to express that, Tony. You are rude. Hey, I get it, Tony. I guess to you, I’m a boring white girl that is beneath you to serve. BUT two other patrons noticed and commented. Being kind and professional instead of… goes a long way. Wes - if you read this, you have a wonderful bar. For podcasts and events and matches and all of the things. That said, I’m sad that I don’t feel comfortable supporting or recommending it anymore.
