BUNKER
BUNKER stands out as a lively gay bar and club in Washington, offering a welcoming atmosphere and diverse crowd. The venue is known for its energetic music, talented DJs, and engaging drag shows, creating an electric environment that caters to both dancing and socializing. While the space can get crowded, it contributes to the raw and unapologetically queer vibe that BUNKER is celebrated for.
The service is generally friendly, though there can be long lines for drinks and coat check. Some visitors have noted issues with security and bartender attitudes, but overall, the experience is positive. The higher prices are typical for DC, and the early crowd can make the atmosphere lively even before the dance floor heats up.

BUNKER in DC is an incredible gay bar/club with nonstop energy and an amazing vibe. The crowd is fun, diverse, and welcoming, making it easy to feel comfortable the moment you walk in. The music is on point, the DJs keep the dance floor alive, and the atmosphere is raw, sexy, and unapologetically queer. Drinks are solid, staff is friendly, and the overall energy is electric. Whether you’re dancing, socializing, or just soaking it all in, BUNKER is a must visit spot in DC’s gay nightlife scene.
It’s great that this space exists! Definitely on the smaller and more crowded side, but that’s not always a bad thing! Lines for drink and coat check can be long but the drag shows are fantastic and there’s a fun, friendly, outgoing crowd. Kind of a weird dynamic with the happy hour and cover- you get a ton of people arriving early to avoid the cover so the place is full while it’s still pretty early in the night. Hopefully they can figure out a way to get folks dancing a bit earlier too! Coat check line is a big issue they desperately need to figure out as well.
Went to see the Willam performance. The vibe was on point and the atmosphere was very upbeat. There was someone overly drunk and spitting on the ground. When security was informed they immediately took action. I felt comfortable and safe. Prices were a bit higher, but that’s to be expected in DC.
Today I went here. I travel all over the world. I have never had this problem. The first time I went it was great, fun and impressive. This time the security guard did not let me in and said that the shop was closing but let other people in. When I asked again, he said that my female friend was drunk when in fact she was not drunk and asked to keep the cash herself and had to go down to pay the entrance fee again. I feel that it is not fair to the people who come in. I do not know why or because I am a foreigner. I am happy to pay if I pay the shop but he wanted to take the cash himself. But the first time was no problem. Please consider the security guard because he is destroying your reputation. I will definitely not come back here and will tell my friends that this place is not as good as they think. I will make a video to tell everyone if I do not receive an apology. I am so disappointed
Had a great experience. Loved the club. Service was amazing. Very crowded but expected that. I will return. I recommend this gay bar.
I came around 10pm on a Saturday night. There was no line to get in and cover was $20. The bar line was not long at all so I was able to get drinks quickly. The bartender was very kind and enthusiastic! The DJ was good and I enjoyed the lights as well. I love a crowded dance floor so I was happy with this place. The crowd itself was pleasant as well.
Bartender was extremely rude. Skipped over multiple times and mocked by them while waiting to order. 20$ cover for 2 small, cramped rooms and poor service.
