Alki Beach Park

Winter and windy. It's a unique beach. There is sand. It's not a mud flat like most of the beach along the sound. At high tide, the western end of the beach is under water, but the east beach has sand. At low tide, it's got to be a wide sandy beach. Of course, that means on summer days, it's busy and people are everywhere. The west end, where we spent more time, has a seawall from the early days when excursions came for the weekend or the summer to enjoy the beach and the several bathhouses. Stairways down to the sand, now overlaid with sand have bronze plaques with stories from the earlier years.

While visiting Seatle I had the opportunity to visit Alki Beach Park during the off season in September. The weather couldn't be nicer and crowds were minimal. Alki beach park offers a georgeous walkway as well as a view of Seatles skyline. Its a photographers dream come true with the skyline ocean shops boats restaurants and shops nearby to take plenty of photographs of. Ample wildlife also gives cause to enjoy the park as the park website credits spotting seals as well as other wild life to enjoy. The beach is clean and well kept. Parking is available alongside the street.

I adore Alki Beach Park for many reasons. The serene ambiance envelops visitors in peace and tranquility, allowing for a deep connection with nature that always lifts my spirits. With its stunning views of the Seattle skyline across the water and the gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore, it's a picturesque escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. I often take long walks along the sandy beach, breathing in the fresh ocean air and soaking up the beauty of the surroundings. Whether it’s the vibrant sunsets painting the sky or the joyful laughter of families enjoying a day outside, every visit to Alki Beach Park feels revitalizing. Whenever I find myself in Seattle, this exquisite spot is always high on my list of places to spend quality time, indulging in the natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere it offers..

Alki Beach is such a wonderful place to spend a day! The promenade is perfect for walking, biking, or just enjoying the ocean view. The beach itself is clean, spacious, and offers stunning views of downtown Seattle and the Olympic Mountains. You can grab a coffee, sit by the water, and watch the ferries go by — it’s so peaceful and relaxing. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, and the sunsets here are absolutely magical. Definitely one of the best spots in Seattle to unwind and enjoy nature!

Found this beach Park in Seattle with good views of the Olympic Mountains, and the slight skyline. The walking / biking path is ideal, the sand is perfect for relaxing, and there’s plenty of places to grab a bite nearby. Great spot for a sunset stroll or a low-key beach day.

Nice place for a walk or running, the sceanery is beautiful. We were there Christmas Day, definitely not a beach day weather wise, but nice for run or walk.

We visited Alki Beach Park on a Saturday afternoon, and it was the perfect way to enjoy the weekend! The weather was absolutely beautiful—sunny skies, gentle breeze, and ideal for soaking up some much-needed vitamin D. Like us, many others were out enjoying the day, with plenty of people sunbathing, playing, or just relaxing on the beach. The atmosphere was lively yet laid-back, making it a great spot to hang out with friends or spend time with family. We didn’t do much besides walk along the beach and take in the views, but that alone made for a wonderful experience. The scenic waterfront, cozy vibe, and stunning views of the water and mountains make this park truly special. Those who live nearby are lucky to have such a gem right in their neighborhood.
