Jack Hyde Park

Training for the Seattle Spartan 5.1K 20+ Obstacles and decided today that I'd train down at Ruston Way on the water... was able to get in a bunch of rock climbing and agility/balance training done and a 3 mile run to top it off... Today was a Great day!!

A beautiful waterfront park that pays tribute to the Chinese population in Tacoma that were forced out of their homes in the 1880s. It's a scenic, flat trail along the waterfront that's great for a stroll or leisurely walk with a furry friend.

This is a beautiful little park right next to the Tacoma Chinese Reconciliation Park. There is a nice path which you could access on a wheelchair, but if you're able to go "off" the trail a little (be aware of vegetation!), there is a great spot right near the water. One of our favorite things is how the benches are adjustable so you can have your back to the water, or you can face it to watch the boats. During the warmer months, there is a shower fountain to rinse your feet before heading back to the car. Perfect if you have a furbaby with you!

Beautiful Park/ little beach It’s a small park with Chinese history but you can walk for longer on Ruston way. Plenty of parking hidden behind the train rail and access to restroom. I recommend for a solo walk, dog walk, family, couples or anyone.

Sundial perfectly and accurately shows the time. Here you can enjoy the view of the bay and walk along the coast to the pier, where you can enjoy cooked seafood in the Northern fish store

The arch is shut down. But it didn't stop my husband and I from marrying each other there. 10 out of 10 would do it again! Very private and peaceful. Except for the one woman who cheered us on! I see you, girl!

Awesome little park to walk around the beach and enjoy a nice sunny day. There are a bunch of really cool structures you can walk around and explore. If you go down to the water you can frequently see tons of baby crabs around the rocks.
