I’ve been coming to this campground for years and have always loved it — the peaceful atmosphere, the scenery, and the overall experience have kept us coming back time and time again. Unfortunately, this most recent visit completely changed how we feel about the place. The new camp host is, without question, one of the most inconsiderate and disrespectful people we’ve ever dealt with at any campground. Within minutes of arriving — literally less than ten minutes — he approached us in a rude, confrontational manner, cutting us off mid-sentence and talking over both me and my wife as we tried to answer his own question about payment for our spot. My wife was in the middle of handling the payment process, trying to be polite and cooperative, but instead of giving her a moment, he kept interrupting and raising his voice as if we were doing something wrong. The whole exchange was uncomfortable, unnecessary, and completely out of line for someone representing the campground. We’ve been loyal visitors for years, bringing friends and family here and recommending this place because it used to be welcoming and well-run. Sadly, that’s no longer the case. The attitude and lack of basic respect from this new camp host ruined the experience for us before we even had a chance to settle in. It’s disappointing to see a place with such great memories go downhill because of one person’s behavior. As long as this current host is running things, we won’t be coming back — and from the sound of it, we’re not the only ones who feel this way. Rest in peace, Camp Comfort, until they find a new host who actually understands what hospitality means.

Great place but they double booked my campsite which was strange. We worked it out with the people next to us but I suggest booking only from the county website so you know you have a reservation. The other people booked through another site and only got one of the sites the wanted and then I was in the other. The ranger tried to help but we just split the site with the people it felt rude to make them leave even though it felt rude that they put their tent up in my site with a note to move my car, it worked out. The creek is right off the camp site, not a lot of water but enough that the kids were amused

We had a great weekend at Camp Comfort! With four toddlers in our group, the clean and quiet campsites by the excellent playground made for an excellent and enriching experience enjoyed by all. Not sure where the camp host was, but the park ranger was very friendly, as were the other camp patrons (including the rooster).

This smaller campground is awesome. The camp host is friendly. He maintains the campground well. People are pleasant. The restroom is clean and it has coin operated hot showers and laundry room. Each campsite has electrical, water and sewerage hookup. There is creek with running water behind the campground. There is a clubhouse and a park for dayuse people. We would come back to camp.

This place is NOT big rig friendly though they booked me knowing I had a 40 ft fifth wheel. Beware the overhanging trees at the entrance. I tore 5-10 ft gouges in my roof and the side of my RV. The attitude of the park ranger was that it happens all the time.

Great camping experience, clean restrooms (with showers), next to a really nice, lush park with a playground for kids. The RV area seemed nice as well, although pretty packed. Campsites are past the RV area in a more secluded area, although most campsites, minus the two on the ends, are close to each other. Also, this area is haunted by a few spirits, and there’s a wild rooster that hangs out.

Always a great trip, Camp Host Joseph is fantastic, keeps the grounds clean, and showers and restrooms very clean. Will be going back to this hidden gem very soon. Park Rangers are great very friendly. Sight has been improved, new ground cover.
