Navy Getaways/ Sea Mist RV Park

Nice, clean RV campground with full hookups and a short walk over the dunes to a wide, uncrowded beach, which is the highlight. Clean facilities. The overall feel is quiet and family-friendly, but the road noise is real with weekly work traffic and does cut into the peace. A solid, no-frills choice if you have base access and prioritize quiet beach access over total campsite tranquility.

There is a north and a south side of this camping ground. There is a big difference between the two areas. The south side is a lot prettier and has trees. I would recommend to book the south campground. We had the north side. Both sides cost the same amount. It is only $25 per night. The bathroom, shower room and laundry room were very clean. The beach is beautiful and not crowed. During the week it is actually almost empty.

Looks like the parking lot is just used now for people parking to go to the beach. What a shame such a big beautiful building is going unused. The grounds around the outside are falling into disrepair. Seems unfortunate. Wonder if it has potential to be a place for people to escape the hot sun during a day while at the beach and purchase refreshments like cold drinks, cold sandwiches and ice cream.

Loved staying here! Hope to visit again. The ocean just beyond the dunes that are at your camper door is an amazing experience, as are the Ariel show put on daily by the planes overhead.

Just another day in paradise. The only thing missing is cable TV. The campgrounds are clean and well-kept, even the heads are ship shape.

It's expensive for a military base but a really nice RV park. Full hook-ups on every spot; both 30 & 50 amp service. Update: Sea Mist and Ocean Pines RV parks have become full-time trailer parks for active duty personnel. If they are on orders, they are allowed to pick an open site and stay for the entire length of their orders. They have about 15 of 65 sites they have set aside for reservations at Sea Mist Park and possibly a few at Ocean Pines, too. It seems leadership has forgotten these are recreation facilities and not military housing facilities. I am very disappointed in this decision.

OMGOODNESS!!! This is a great place to visit! There are two RV areas, plus they have cabins for rent at only $25/night! Didn’t get a chance to look in any, though. Bummer. The beach is a stone’s throw away. There are plenty of flat roads & sidewalks to safely ride bikes, walk, or jog. We arrived on a Friday. Check-in was a breeze, and MWR hosted an awesome BINGO night for RV park guests. They have great prizes, too! I won a gift card, Beach rental package, AND a nice YETI coffee mug! The staff also provided a meal! There’s a nice Class VI, commissary, and base exchange (not in the same location as the RV park, though). Very family-friendly, too. We rode our bikes from the base to the VA Beach Boardwalk. I’m in my 60s and it was a very pleasant ride. The only downside? Retirees can’t make reservations more than six months in advance. That’s definitely not a dealbreaker, though—not at all. Will absolutely visit again!
