John is a very skilled masseuse! He is very professional and always made me feel comfortable. He is the only one who has ever worked out my knots. I have had quite a few massages in my life but Jon is by far the best I have ever had. To me It is like finding a great hairstylist, you would follow them anywhere for their service and skills, this is how I feel about John, I would follow him anywhere! If I could I would give 6 Stars! Highly recommend!

We came here on our trip for a couple's massage and absolutely loved it! Everything from the vibe of the place to the massage itself was amazing and we were so happy to choose this place. It was my boyfriend's first massage ever and he was quite nervous about what to expect but John was wonderful with him and we're definitely going to go again next time we're there. Really recommend both for solo and couple massages, it was the highlight of our Albany trip

I’ve been going to Spa Halcyon since it’s opening consistently every few months sometimes more often! It is an incredibly inviting space, clean, professional and well organized. The front end staff are always welcoming and easy to talk to and book with. You can book online, over the phone or in person with reminder updates via email or text. They make the process VERY easy and have a very reasonable cancellation/ rescheduling policy! Prices are also very reasonable. John, the masseuse, KNOWS HIS SHIT! I’ve gotten messages all over the world and I can say you’re not gonna get a better deep tissue, signature or soft tissue message anywhere else! He’s very knowledgeable about his craft and is professional and appropriate in all the ways! They offer many other services such as facials , waxing and cupping. Only the best work at Spa Halcyon!

I went to John to get treatment on my neck/back for a narrowing in my spine that throws my neck into all sorts of Pain. Not only did John know how to take care of my issue, but he was also able to give me suggestions into a chiropractor and acupuncturist to see if those services may also help. He had excellent strength and I left feeling much better than when I came in! Would reccomend, and will be going back.

Skilled Bodyworker! I feel like I’ve been reborn, a new man! I just had a 90 minute deep tissue massage by John Bowers at Halcyon Spa in Albany. This will be longer than a typical review. I had forgotten how important and beneficial regular skilled massage is for wellness. Today I remembered. I also knew for 10 years that John Bowers is an exceptionally gifted Bodyworker, yet I never got a massage from him until today. I'm Sorry it took me so long. I sought massage now because I’ve been physically over-stressing my body for some time and it caught up with me. My back (and whole body) had many tense and knotted trouble spots. I had been having spasms and major warning signals for weeks. It was horrible suffering. What I didn’t realize until today was how much of my mental and emotional stresses, my bottled up feelings, were at the root of many of those muscle knots. John had me feeling sufficiently safe that I was able to allow a series of powerful emotional releases. As he worked on me there were moments when I cried, moaned, wailed, sobbed, and sometimes laughed while he worked on specific knots and muscles. Bottled up feelings and emotions were released and often I could feel the knots releasing along with them. All this emotional release all-the-while receiving and enjoying a blissfully skillful and thoughtfully thorough full body massage. I can get so distracted and preoccupied that I forget how to take care of myself. Now is the best time to take care of myself! I’m on a health and healing journey, and I really want to do what’s good for my body. This massage was the most amazing full-body "Tune Up" And I found myself realizing just how wonderful and well I would feel after a series of these sessions with John. I intend to bring my partner back here for a couples massage. I’ve already booked myself another session 2 weeks from now.

This place is amazing! Everyone was super kind and respectful. I was a little nervous going in because I had never gotten a massage before but john put me right at ease. Will definitely be returning.
