📍 Gay-friendly spas in Los Angeles

LA SPATEL

2.6

La Spatel, a men's only spa located in Koreatown, Los Angeles, offers a basic and affordable experience for those seeking budget accommodation. The spa provides essential amenities such as a hot tub, spa, and showers, along with a dry sauna and steam room. Its cubical-style sleeping arrangements are reminiscent of a hostel, with prices starting as low as $45.

While the spa is conveniently situated with easy access to Koreatown, the overall experience may not meet expectations. The facilities are often described as cramped and in need of better maintenance. Additionally, the staff has been noted to be unfriendly and difficult to communicate with, which can impact the overall enjoyment of the visit. Guests looking for a more comfortable and welcoming experience might want to consider other options in the area.

Wish there was a rating below zero, terrible place to be in, the lights and signs outside, gives you an impression that it is a beautiful spacious site. It contains three very small jacuzzi good for 3 people. 1 hot, 1 hotter than the other and one cold one. The The outside of the Jacuzzi is where you could sit while your feet is the in the Jacuzzi is very very dirty. . It has also a dry sauna and a steam room. They don’t give you slippers and towels. Only wash cloths.

I came here pre-pandemic & it was a nice stay, it had these cubical-like beds with storage in one big room & some activities rooms to watch TV & do your work, all for $45. BUT sorry to say it was TERRIBLE when I stayed here on my most recent trip. Everything changed for the worst, those cubical beds were gone. Now they charge $35 to sleep in a big room with uncomfortable beds all laid out side-by-side next to complete strangers. I felt like I was paying money to sleep in a homeless shelter. The rooms where we were supposed to have for activities use had people sleeping in them because they hated the beds. When I complained to the man at the counter that this wasn’t what I remembered, who spoke poor English & was difficult to communicate with, he showed me a private room that was better but the size of a broom closet. This one was $75 with a $20 deposit, the bed was very uncomfortable & I had problems going to sleep as there was so much noise coming from the lobby & this ridiculous window on the door letting the hallway light in (had a prison cell feeling). There was also someone’s cloths in the closet & the drawers on the bed frame was filthy. WORST OF ALL I SUFFERED 7 BED BUG BITES and a few followed me home so I got 3 more. I should have just booked a cheap hotel. I guess lesson learned 🙁

Basic men's only Korean spa. Cheap with a cold tub, warm tub, and a hot tub. Has a sauna, steam room and upstairs for lounging and sleeping. Not as crowded and in the middle of k-town

I came here because I had heard good things about this place. I walked in, first time, greeted the lady at the front desk pleasantly, and got no response. The look her on face was as if I had dirt all over me, she just said, 20.00...I gave her my debit card with my PICTURE ON IT, she still asked me for my i.d. I smiled and told her, my pic was on the card, looked at my card, then looked at me again. I swear to look she gave afterwards was so degrading and disgusting. She then made a copy of my debit card...🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️... I opened my locker only to find dirty clothes, cups of water. I told her about it. She had it cleaned but afterwards, no apologies whatsoever, no informations as to where to go, especially for a first timer, NOTHING!...😫😫Her attitude just me feel not welcome, but she took my money however....I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN! Customer service is very big with me. The world is choatic as it is, and to come here and be treated as if I was scum, really digs at me. NEVER! EVER!
