The Safari Inn has been in several movies, the location is central and safe. The motel is older, but the rooms and grounds are immaculate. We had a quiet sleep, I would absolutely love to stay here again. Thank you.

Positive: There was an old Hollywood history to it. The location was good Negative: This is no more than a Motel 6 with a different name. There was no microwave in rooms, towels were old and worn, and beds were uncomfortable. Had to travel across the hotel parking lot just to get ice in the laundry mat. OVERPRICED

We booked a room here primarily for the complimentary shuttle to/from Universal Hollywood. When we arrived, we were told that the shuttle was all booked up for the whole day we were going to be at the park. We asked if we had called ahead of time, would we have been more likely to get a spot, and we got a kind of non-answer about the past few weeks being really busy. It felt a little weird too because we didn't see the shuttle at all during our two-night stay. I see other good reviews mentioning the shuttle, but if not for those, I would question the legitimacy of this service. My suggestion for a better way to handle the shuttle service without disappointing guests would be to have the option to book it online when reserving the stay, so expectations can be better met. Otherwise, our stay was good. Room was clean, hotel grounds felt safe, was it was easy to walk to several restaurants. Parking was kind of pricey ($25/night) but that seems to be the norm for this area.

The Safari Inn is such a vibe! If you love 90s nostalgia, this place nails it—the décor, the colors, and that retro energy all feel like stepping back in time in the best way. The views are amazing, giving you a glimpse of the city that feels both chill and cinematic. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making the stay feel personal and welcoming. Our favorite spots? The pool balcony was perfect for relaxing with a drink, and the heated pool was dreamy—especially for a nighttime dip. Plus, the shuttle to WB Studios made getting there easy and stress-free, which was such a thoughtful perk. Overall, it’s a mix of retro charm, comfort, and practicality. Whether you’re in town for sightseeing, nostalgia, or just a fun, relaxing getaway, Safari Inn hits all the right notes.

Loved everything about the place. The location, hospitality of the front desk staff, the spacious room, the ample parking, the lovely cafe across the street for breakfast... and of course the convenience of having the CVS and other stores close by. Everything in the room worked well and the wi-fi was also good. Made for a memorable trip!

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. The room was very clean, and the location couldn’t have been better with just a few minutes from the downtown theme park area. The shuttle service was honestly the highlight of the stay. It made getting around completely stress‑free, with no need to worry about driving or parking, which was a major plus. The staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming, and the property felt secure throughout my stay. Overall, a perfect experience from start to finish. Highly Recommend

This is our go to stay location when visiting SoCal. I beleive we stayed there on 3 different occasions in 2025!!! The staff are always friendly, respectful and helpful when needed. That said, we want to call out Melanie, She is super nice and awesome! Mel is the real deal when it comes to provding customer service and going above and beyond to make sure our stays are the best and memorable! Th hotel, rooms and location are perfect for us. In addition we go there because there are no daily parking fees! So many other places charges which I feel it’s just another way to price gouge customers!! That’s a major plus for us and why we always stay here! FREE PARKING 😀 Thank you Safari Inn Staff and to Mel 💕👍 Happy New Year!
