I had a pleasant stay here. I was in the bunker room and everything went smoothly. Remodeled bathroom and shower room at the end of the hallway was nice. The front desk folks always greet me with pleasantries and are service oriented. The neighborhood is great if you're using Amtrak or Greyhound both stations are a few blocks away, the blue line CTA UIC station is even closer. If you're willing to compromise and do a hostel stay over this is a fine option. I believe they have private rooms also, but I have not used that option.
Stayed for 2 nights. Great location in Greek Town. They were able to accommodate my very late arrival time no problem. The facilities were clean and modern. My single room was small but had everything I needed. Id definitely come back next time I visit Chicago
We had a great stay at Parthenon Guest House! The restroom facilities were very clean, and having 3 showers and 2 toilets for the women’s area was a huge plus—it really helped avoid any long waits in the morning. The room was just the right size for the four of us, cozy but comfortable. We also enjoyed the common area, which had a nice vibe and was a good space to relax. The staff were all friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with anything we needed. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-maintained place to stay!
This was a decent little spot! It was very affordable! I never stayed in a hostel before but I was only there for the night, so just needed somewhere for a few hours. The place is clean and quiet. Granted when I got there it was after midnight, but still. There was a 7/11, a Starbucks and a place that I believe had gyros but forsure had pizza all within walking distance. It wasn’t a far ride to Union station either. My room was very clean and I luckily had it solo. There’s lockers in the room for your valuables things like that. Now this place isn’t super ADA friendly. There’s A TON of stairs so if you can’t climb stairs don’t do it. No elevator at all.
We had a great experience at the Chicago Parthenon Hostel! One of the best surprises was the parking—there are three free street spots right in front of the hostel, and we were lucky enough to snag one! There’s also side street parking available, or you can use Parking Hero for a nearby lot if needed. Joel at the front desk was so sweet and helpful—when we were heading out to dinner in the rain, he even offered us his umbrella! That kind of thoughtful gesture really added to the sense of community the hostel gives off. The shared bathrooms and showers were in pristine condition, which made the stay extra comfortable. Our room was bare bones, but perfectly fine for a one-night stay. The mattress was firm, and the pillows were surprisingly great quality. On the first floor, there’s a cozy communal room with free coffee and tea, a microwave, and even a TV. Someone was playing guitar a bit later than I would’ve liked, but overall, we felt safe throughout our stay, and while it’s simple, the hostel checks all the boxes if you’re looking for affordable, clean, and community-oriented lodging in Chicago/ Greek Town Neighborhood.
Stayed here for 5 nights and was very impressed. The hostel wasn’t busy so it was very quiet and super clean. It’s only a 2 minute walk to the train line to the city. Loved it.
feeling very ripped off after staying here. was hoping to love this place because there are a lot of recent reviews raving about the place. but for $200 a night, no ac leaving the room to be very humid and gross feeling, BLOOD STAINED blanket (i forgot to get a picture), wifi did not work AT ALL for me or my friend, paper thin walls so you can hear people all around you in the bathrooms/showers and their own rooms. the beds…. one of them was hard as a rock, felt like concrete, and the other bed was sagging heavily so it was very uncomfortable as well because nothing was supporting it up. as someone with fibromyalgia, these beds wrecked me which i have never really experienced from anywhere i was staying before. and to top it all off the front desk guy was rude when we entered. he saw us enter, proceeded to go on his phone for about 5 minutes before he finally says hello and checks us in. he kept laughing at us like he was making fun of us for the things we were saying which is so weird. i truly do not understand the good reviews!
