Extended Stay America Suites- Syracuse - Dewitt

Positive: The location is great for people who don’t want to stay in the city. Negative: The weekly rate should be at least 350 only because some people have govt assistance paying and that would make it so government assistance would most likely be able to help more people.

Lachicka at the front desk is very nice and helpful. She is the only positive to staying here. My main issue is the keycard which is an issue with whoever actually owns this hotel. I suggest maybe if the keycard thing is not working as the owner, maybe you know just using regular locks and keys? Just easier for everybody including employees.

Where to start…. 100.00 deposit required at check in…. For what?! The recliner with a cigarette burn in it, the curtains with the holes in it or the sticky floor or the bathroom door that wouldn’t shut or the lock on the door that wouldn’t work properly… the smell was absolutely atrocious. I tried putting car freshener in the vent to help and nothing got past the stench. Oh and I must mentioned the huge nasty stain that was on the mattress. Definitely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The pictures on line look nothing like the conditions you will experience at this hotel.

Was looking forward to returning to this place because in the past had no issues. Arrived shortly before 7:00 p.m. January 31st to arrive to a sign on the desk saying on my unpaid 30 minute break will return. We then waited until 7:30 and a woman then popped her head out the door behind the desk at about 7:30 to 7:35 p.m. and said I see you standing here on the camera I'm just going to let you know it's going to be another 20 more minutes or so so we sat here from 6:58 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. for someone to take an hour long break while we waited to just check into a room we booked through a third party along with another person that had to wait over 30 minutes just to check in. Then to ice the cake after all of that as soon as we walk into the room and turn the light on we are greeted by roaches 🙂

Worst hotel in America. Had a confirmed reservation thru TripAdvisor. Front desk clerk said she assigned us the "last room" but it was apparently not even supposed to be rented out - it was all torn up: large dangerous hole in floor that tripped me, stove dismantled, broken door, disgusting tile, no wastebaskets, no cups, nothing…except cockroaches! (I have pictures). Entire place smelled like pot inside and outside. Went to the front desk to complain. Waited while the clerk was checking in another pair of customers (apparently there WAS another room). After talking back and forth with her manager on the phone, she said that room wasn’t even supposed to be rented - was scheduled for demolition/renovation. Manager said we could stay for free or leave - and clerk said she was refunding the charges back to my card. CLEARLY that didn’t happen! It was late and other places nearby were full so we stayed (slept in our car part of the night after killing a cockroach). All charges were to be refunded - but it is still showing the charges on my credit card from TripAdvisor!

I’ve been here for three weeks now on business and I have zero complaints. My room has several upgrades, which makes for a more comfortable stay. The staff here is very pleasant and helpful if need be. I’ll stay here every time I visit this area.

Been here for over a month, nobody has tried to help me with better rates. I pay full price, I,ve asked several times being told I have to do it through the website. This place is having issues with either being poorly staffed or managed. They don't take care of their quests. It is dirty and smelly. I have addressed issues and they said it would be taken care of but it wasn't. Also see what I wrote under rooms. No coffee bar for weeks!
