Motel 6 Joliet, IL - I-80

12-20-25 until 12-21-25. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!||We arrived and got the key to room 219 and it did not work. We returned the key and assigned room 239. Upon entering the room had a stale smell to it and the tv was left on. We attempted to watch the NFL game and the game was being commentated in Spanish. I picked up the room phone to call the front desk and the phone did not work. I had to call from my cellphone, was told previous guests were Spanish and they had changed the setting for the tv. I was able to correct the tv issue. I go to use the bathroom and there was water all over the floor from a leaking toilet, I placed towels all over the floor. The toilet takes 3-4 minutes to fully empty when flushing. The toilet the proceeded to run, gurgle and self-flush all night. There was a huge gap between the mattress and the low headboard. The 3 provided pillows were flimsy. Woke up tired and pissed off. We attempted to get a late checkout, called 5 times from cell phone to front desk to no avail.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Truly deserve 0 stars…….Infested with roaches 🪳 dirty towels dirty walls smells horrible signage on doors say no smoking but rooms have an awful residue smell of smoke. bed sheet dirty. We were extremely exhausted when checking in and could not find other accommodation so late into the evening. On top of this all we booked for 3 nights and they kicked us out on the same day of check in because they said our reservation was expired due to checking in late… I specifically called them and asked them if checking in late would be an issue and they reassured me no issue at all. When I check in the guy gave me a receipt and all and said enjoy your stay for 3 nights….. so unorganized and unprofessional the guy I dealt with in the morning was an ignorant careless jerk and blamed it on the night guy being new and not knowing any better. Then house keeping comes banging on the door demanding we leave immediately. DO NOT STAY HERE.Y’all should be embarrassed to be open in the run down dirty conditions you are operating under. We end up moving to another hotel and that was 5 stars for the exact same price. My only regret was not doing my research before booking here. It was the closet to where we needed to be.

The front desk alone deserves 5 stars, especially Ileana. My room once had a broken light switch and she immediately sent someone to fix it 🙏 It's an older motel and sometimes has some issues but the staff here does the best job possible to upkeep it and they are extremely friendly. You get clean rooms, with a fridge and the lowest price in the area. Plus they allow pets

The sheets were a little itchy but I did not see any bugs. I did notice something under the bed what I thought was a bug but it was either food or a booger but I got rid of it.

Can't complain. Room was cheap enough. It was a clean big room. It was quiet. Just one problem. I killed a roach in the bathroom.

Beds are comfortable and it’s cheep but not clean ; clean your own room. 🤷‍♀️ The building needs to have outside better lighting to reduce crime the police come by every hour and there’s a bit of a lot of nonsense going on. If your a female solo traveler I’d NOT book here or the entire area around it here. There’s 6 hotels near by. I had a roch on my toilet paper in middle of night that woke me up!
