Stratus Suites - Boutique Hotel

Positive: The location is peaceful. Negative: Just a bit outdated. But the room was fine for the one night we need to stay and rest.

The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. When I laid down, I couldn’t even tell someone else was next to me—it felt like I had the whole bed to myself while still enjoying the comfort of having someone close by. The room also had a cozy sofa chair with an ottoman, plus a desk with a proper business chair, which made it easy to get work done comfortably. The bathroom setup was a little different—it’s not directly connected to the main area of the room. You walk past the sink, around the corner by the closet, and then into the bathroom. At first it felt like a bit of a trek, but honestly, it was nice having it separated. It kept the heat from showers and any other odors away from the bedroom, making the room itself feel fresher and more relaxing. The only downside was the inconsistent breakfast. Some mornings it was good, other mornings it felt lacking.

The King Deluxe we were in - the toilet handle was broken, I could not flush my poop! I was so embarrassed, haha. The shower head was broken too so the water could not switch to shower mode. I told the front desk lady and she kindly gave us another room. We took a look and it was all good so that was okay. The room looked nice but serviceable. The bed frame felt so cheap, like it would collapse under just my weight. The office area looked really nice and made my wife think it would be fine but when we arrived at the room the outside looked questionable and unkempt. Nevertheless, our visit went great. Nothing happened. The cleaning lady was nice. Esmeralda, I think. She did her best even though the hotel didn't have any do not disturb signs. but it seemed a bit slightly neglected.

I stayed at the Stratus Suites Hotel in Killeen for almost a full month during a military exercise, from March 20- April 16, 2021. ||I was a little hesitant initially based on the location but I was so impressed by the rooms and the STAFF! ||The rooms have been completely renovated. They’re very spacious and immaculately clean. My bed was extremely comfortable. The room had a microwave and mini fridge, and a Roku TV. The staff was GREAT. They were so pleasant and responsive to all of our group needs( we had 42 people)- including scheduling housekeeping at night while those who were on midnight shift were at work, so they didn’t wake them up during the day. ||The hot breakfast provided was delicious! They also provided multiple grab-and-go options including fresh fruit. On the weekends the staff had arranged for entertainment- there was a fire dancer, a Michael Jackson impersonator, plus there were multiple beautiful outside seating areas. The gym has brand new equipment. There is free laundry on site. ||10/10 would stay again- great value and convenient to FT Hood.

The lady at the desk was absolutely awesome very welcoming and very friendly and quick about getting the room and friendly. The room was big and spacious. My only downside to this place was there was alot to be desired. The breakfast mon-fri was absolutely minimal at best. The outside of the room was cracked and missing paint the parking area was pretty bad and the room even though it was good in size had alot to be desired in cleanliness and maintenance issues and the water went out for a period of time. Plus the curtain only covers a bit of the window not the entire thing. And there are wild cats running around with mange and it's always trying to get into your room.

Great hospitality from the front desk concerning special requests. The rooms are very large for the price range and looked clean enough. The air conditioning was powerful. The room layout was somewhat odd, with the sink on the opposite side of the suite than the toilet. The two lights in the bedroom area didn't work. There wasn't any sort of "Do Not Disturb" sign for the door and housekeeping inexplicably opened the door at 3pm while I was napping. The pool looked inviting but it was padlocked closed on both sides. The room did not have any full body mirrors; they were all chest level and above. The weekend hot breakfast was the usual scrambled eggs/sausage combo most travelers would expect. There are a few restaurants/stores within a short walking distance. For the price, this hotel is a good value.

The room was very clean, spacious, and well designed for an affordable price. Newly renovated rooms with great customer service. Located right off of the main highway.
