Causeway Bay Lansing Hotel & Convention Center

This hotel is gasping its dying breath. It used to be nice, but now it is dirty, worn, and uncared-for. The desk clerk was very nice and helpful, but he couldn't make up for the smell of pot and tobacco that permeated the building or the hairs in the bed. The lamp didn't work and the surface of the desk chair was completely worn off. The parking lots were unlit, and people were hanging out as if they had nowhere else to go. We got a refund and left.

Staff was very friendly and lobby was nice, but the outside of the building was falling apart and the rear parking area was dark, overgrown vegetation and the building seemed abandoned. Again, much of the public interior was nice, but unfortunately our room was not. Dirty carpet, stains on the pillows, dirty washcloth hanging on the curtain rod, only half a roll of toilet paper left on the counter, empty Kleenex box and the sink didn't drain. The shower mat in the tub was so dingy looking, we didn't even want to stand on it, so decided to wait until we got back home to take an actual shower.

Positive: I enjoyed the location of the hotel Negative: My plan was to throw my seven-year-old birthday party at the pool and have dinner at the restaurant inside however when we arrived at the hotel there was no pool open and no restaurant open very disappointed

This has to be one of the most misleading advertised hotels I have ever stayed in. IT IS AWFUL!!! You cannot get towels for the rooms or any other services for that matter. I should have read the reviews before booking! The location was convenient to where I needed to go, but the fact you cannot get the bare necessities when needed is RIDICULOUS!!! It feels like we are living in a homeless shelter. The hallways smell like urine, etc.

The hotel is remodeling but the rooms are spacious they have a garden area that's beautiful the have an area where you can hold events then go straight to your room they have weekly rates they do laundry once a week so bring your own and your aloud to bring your little fur friends

Couldn't get in my room so they moved me to another and it was filthy dirty. Laying in bed and cockroaches started crawling on pillow, after looking closer there are bed bugs too. I went downstairs and let them know I was leaving and why ... wouldnt refund my money or anything. $117 for a dirty room with bed bugs and cockroaches ... no thank you

As of late December 2025, this hotel will be housing ~50 homeless paid for by TAXPAYER MONEY due to a ruling by the city of Lansing that determined people who were trespassing on private land are somehow owed a 6 all weeks all expense paid stay at a hotel on taxpayer money. I am 100% pro my taxpayer money going towards resources and facilities towards the homeless, but not when those facilities already exist in our city. I am 100% against my taxpaying money being used to fund private facilities that are owned by private companies. Will never stay at a hotel that is happy to take taxpaying funds from the community it serves to house people who refused to leave private land they were trespassing on. Causeway Bay Lansing is happy to accept taxpayer money to house homeless people in a hotel, despite our taxpaying money already funding numerous facilities with ample open space. This hotel does not need to be housing them and should have refused to accept city money for this.
