Have stayed at this location for many years. Lobby looks great but the rooms are lacking now. Cushions on room couches are dirty. Bathroom toilet paper holder falling off wall. Bathroom floors were dirty in all corners. Tubs are nasty looking and bottom of tub was not soli but unstable. Hotel rooms needs a total redo. Hot Breakfast is supposed to be included and in the past always was to early shuttles. They had stale muffins and some apples out. Not what we paid for. Shuttle driver to airport was very nice but smelled so of smoke. The hotel has really gone downhill the last year.
I have stayed at Quality Suites many times over the years, and in the past my experiences have been very positive. The staff and lobby have always been wonderful, and that has been one of the reasons I’ve recommended this hotel to friends and family for years. Unfortunately, during this most recent stay, the room itself was not well maintained. The faucet used to turn on the shower was broken, the light switch that controls the bedroom area was not working properly, and kept shutting off due to the surge protector flipping. Additionally, the heat did not function well — we had to set it to 90 degrees just to reach a room temperature of about 72. I want to be very clear that the staff was excellent. The manager, Jessica, the housekeeping staff, and the team serving the light breakfast were all friendly, professional, and helpful. This is not a staffing issue at all. My concern is strictly with the condition of the rooms, which appear to need maintenance and investment. Because of this experience, I would hesitate before recommending the hotel going forward — which is disappointing, given how much I’ve liked it in the past. I truly hope these issues are addressed, as the staff and service deserve rooms that match the quality of their work.
This was always my first choice while staying in Lansing. The breakfast was horrible, it used to be wonderful: latte coffee machine, chef cooked your food, different choices each day, muffins or rolls not there now. The room was ok but no luggage rack, no rail to use while getting into tub to shower, toilet lid had huge section out of it, then ever time the heater turned off-a huge moan rattle noise. No tvs playing in lobby like it used to be, no happy hour Friday evening, and clerk at front desk was not very approachable or cared about your experience.
The dining room looked incredible. But the room was disgusting. The lamp had stains, the shampoo/conditioner bottles were half empty. Already used. The remote for the room was ABSOLUTELY disgusting. Had hair and gunk left in it.. I didn't feel comfortable to touch it. At all
This stay was much improved over my previous experience. The manager made good on a promise and my room was in much better condition than before. The room was clean and quiet with a walk-in shower (which I didn’t know they had). Only issue was the dripping toilet which constantly caused the tank to refill all night, so I had to keep the bathroom door closed. Other than that, it was a very pleasant experience.
We specifically choice this hotel to stay in as we had been here three years ago and enjoyed the experience. This hotel gives the vibes of a higher priced high end hotel at a budget price of under $100 for a mini suite. I did knock off one star for the overall experience this time. Previous visits the included breakfast was much more restaurant-like, with eggs and omelets made to order, lots more breakfast food choices and regular tableware. I was disappointed this visit to find the typical carb laden breads, cereals, and only scrambled eggs, (not fresh from the shell eggs either) and sauasage patties, and soggy tater tots served on styro plates. The hot coffee and lemon water available in the lobby at all hours is a nice touch. The rooms are large and comfortable with a sliding door between the sleeping and "living" area for privacy if wanted. If you are looking for a very clean, pet friendly, budget priced mini suite rooms hotel, this is a good choice.
Some of our group stayed at the Crowne Plaza, but we were at Quality Suites. The room was huge. Very nice sitting area. The shower was slippery, could use a rubber mat and handicap rail. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was AWESOME
