You get what you pay for in most cases. Worth every penny, while pennies are being counted..
Well when you don't have a lot of money and you need a place to stay especially in the city of Long Beach doesn't leave a lot of options when it comes to cheap living. But you have the grace Hotel formerly the Donna and it is what it is there's a lot of history with this place and I do strongly believe it is haunted but that's another story. The place is remodeled after a fire and they did a pretty good job restoring it to the condition it was in but better than her formerly was shared bathrooms some of the rooms have bathrooms in it but pretty much less than a thousand a month when you pay by the week. There have been known to be a lot of r290 and if history of drugs is prevalent with this place and Parolees people on probation. Stay in your own lane though and this could be a good place where you can get off your feet from being homeless plus the manager Miss Shelly is a really nice lady her and her husband are decent.
Well besides from the fact other than that I live there this place is accommodating to people that need a place to go and in respects to the street person and their lifestyles respectively. The managers are awesome people and the new owner is an understanding guy. They gave me a chance and I am showing my appreciation the best way I can. That is what you are supposed to do. I clean up outside and stuff... and the common places and such.
This place is a den of criminal activity and dangerous, and it would seem the owners prefer it that way, as they both do nothing to deter such people or activity and also seem to have things set up to attract just such people and behavior. My guess is that the owners must feel as if this makes it easier to deal with tenants when they want to kick them out. Much more difficult when you have tenants acting and living within the law. Regardless of whether my hunch is right or wrong, it doesn't change the fact that this place is best avoided at all costs.
The place is full of drug addicts, dealers, and prostitutes. The owner is a slum lord and should be fined for the crimes to the community that happen daily. They let anyone in and there is no oversight. I am asking for the restoration of the place. I understand that individuals need to live there, but it is inhabitable as the reviews say. Make the Grace Hotel owners accountable for treating its customers like caged animals. They are taking advantage of vulnerable people and that is not right. Please join me in the picketing for the cleanup of the Grace on February 24, 2018 @10AM . Help us remove the criminal element and stand up for the people who have no voice.
I have lived in Long Beach all my life . I've known of this hotel and it has not had the best reputation. But since the new management has taken over I have seen many changes and have actually been inside the grace hotel and it has new carpet fresh paint and everyone is friendly and there were no openings . Unfortunately they had a waiting list for at least 2 weeks. I read some of the reviews which I saw no activity of drug sales or any other kind of infestations of bugs or anything of the sort. I think that person was just in a bad mood that wrote that review or got thrown out for bad behavior or using drugs themselves. By the way they are remodeling every single room as people move out . brand new floors brand new kitchens in the room that do have kitchens or bathrooms. it is a community Hotel so some people have to use bathrooms that are for hotel patrons only located at each end of the hallway. Since the new management the area has a much better Persona and I would highly recommend if you need a room for a week or month you should give the grace Hotel a call.
It's not that I don't like this place, I don't love it either. That has nothing to do with the Hotel it's self. The manager here is the best we have had in the 10 years I have lived here. This is not a druggy, prostitute, nor a flop house. They do not rent nightly do to the fact we do not want druggies here. The maintenance man does a very efficient job when needed. Joe Nunos has been the best thing to happen to this hotel. He is fair, understanding. The cleaning of the place has been tremendous. As far as the bed bugs go keep your room clean of clutter . Management can only do what is available to them. If you can't cooperate we don't want you here. Please do not use negative words like everyone who lives here is a druggy. This is a quiet safe place for those in transition. Thank you!
