The Royal Pagoda Motel - Los Angeles

We spent three nights at this motel and really enjoyed our stay. The historic character of both the exterior and the rooms gave the place a unique charm. The price felt fair for what you receive, especially compared to other hotels and motels in the same area. The room was very clean, and housekeeping serviced it daily, which we appreciated. Parking could get a bit busy, and the designated spots often fill up quickly. However, the staff were not overly strict about parking within specific spaces, so it was usually possible to park wherever your car fit. This was convenient and much easier than searching for street parking. The location is excellent if you want to be within walking distance of downtown and several major attractions. Overall, we had a very positive experience.

What a gem! The love and attention to detail the owners have put into the property makes this place shine. I’ve traveled around the world and can honestly say it was one of the most welcoming and charming rooms I’ve stayed in. Plus, the folks at check in could not have been nicer.

Clean room, clean comfortable beds, warm shower, helpful service, cold ice (ask for it). Direct TV. Maybe a table would make it better. Just eat at one of the many restaurants nearby.

Not luxury! But adequate if you want to be near Chinatown or Dodger Stadium. Caution: parking is quite scarce. We were able to get a fully legal spot arriving on Sunday afternoon. If you get a 3rd-party hotel discount, you might have to pay extra for parking. The neighborhood seems sketchy, but no one broke into our car. BYOW (bring your own water, in case you don't want to drink tap water.) The room had a coffeemaker and fridge, but there was only a single shared microwave near the front desk. Much varying noise, so use the earplugs they give you or choose your preferred alternative.

December 2nd 2025 it was 8.30 pm. We waited around 10 minutes on window door and the asian front desk guy didn't show up until we knocked and called loud several times. He sounded lazy and reluctant to work. He was so rude and disrespectful If you don't like your job don't work why guests should pay the price AC was not working properly No microwave

Vintage-style motel with basic but clean rooms. Location is convenient for exploring downtown. Staff are welcoming and efficient. Parking is free, which is a plus. A good budget option
