Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lubbock South by IHG

Overall it's better than a motel 6 but there were some serious issues with this hotel. The good: We were warmly welcomed. We checked in quickly. Parking was good. Warm cinnamon rolls at breakfast. The bad: Cleaning crew was still at the hotel at 8:00 PM and they were loud. We heard a series of banging in the other room while they were working. They also left a bottle of glass cleaner on the floor at the end of the hallway. Their cleaning cart was also blocking the entrance to our room when we got there. The toilet flush handle was not connected to the float. We had to lift off the back of the toilet and lift the float directly in order to flush. A lot of the grout in the tile floor in the bathroom was gone. Overall a very disappointing effort from the IHG brand with this hotel.

Great stay. We only stayed 1 night coming back from CO to TX but still very impressed. |Beds were comfortable, appreciate a hot shower & then a good breakfast. Speaking of, their breakfast selection is on point. Pancakes, oatmeal, omelette, sausage, cinnamon rolls. Variety of juices & coffee. Amazing!! Would definitely recommend.

We chose this location for the indoor pool which would allow our kids an opportunity to play after a long day cooped up in the car. Unfortunately, the pool was closed. We didn’t find out until the kids were headed to the pool in their bathing suites. I feel like this should have been disclosed at check-in and we should have had an opportunity to cancel our reservation. Our room was next to the elevators which made for a poor nights sleep for the 4 of us. The bathtub was dirty and the water pressure was terrible. Otherwise, the place is pretty nice. Breakfast is solid. Improve upkeep and communication would make this hotel a good value. As it is now, I cannot recommend.

I and my husband stayed here for one night just to attend a conference nearby. We were given a room on the first floor and I thought it would be noisy but I slept through the night without being disturbed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was clean. The only drawback I can share is that the towels seem old and not as soft as I expected. The breakfast food tasted good too, and the lady serving there was nice as she kept refilling the trays with food. I will stay here again.

Nothing worked in the room- coffee maker broken—- remote needed batteries bUT attendant no where to be found for over an hour! Card keys did not work so had to go back to front desk. Attendant(when she was there) was very robotic and made sure you knew she DID NOT CARE. Will never return. All horrible.

This location is terribly managed, none of the rooms were maintained, the 1st floor has a horrendous sewer smell, the pool didn’t have any towels. When asked about an iron and board was told "we don’t have any on the property" front desk clerks act like you are the problem when you come talk to them, the phones were also unplugged I’m guessing because they wanted to keep people from calling the front desk, photos are nothing like the rooms. Ceiling in bathrooms are damaged, tile in showers are separated. Absolute garbage of a hotel stay, side entrance door doesn’t work. Pros coffee maker, breakfast.

Stayed here on my way to New Mexico from Houston. Also stayed here on my way back. In fact, I left my pillow here on my way to New Mexico and they saved it for me and I got it on my way back. The room was super clean both times and I checked in really late at night both times and the service was fantastic. Great value for this hotel. The only thing I didn't like was somebody knocking on my door when I clearly had the DND sign out, asking if I was going to check out at noon. The sign is there for a reason. I drove all night and was getting some extra sleep for another 8 hour drive ahead. I get it if it's past noon and Im not out yet, but this was not the case (I checked out at 11:55).
