Hotel desk staff was friendly & professional. Hotel common area appeared to be clean, with no odors. No breakfast was provided, but coffee bar was adequate for us. Hotel is pet friendly, and our room did not smell clean. Hotel staff needs to do a MUCH better job deodorizing rooms. Would be ok if you're traveling with pets and don't mind the smell of the LAST guest's critters.

After calling to confirm our reservations, we drove 9 hours out into the middle of nowhere Lubbock, only to find out that this fine establishment decided to cancel our two rooms and sell it to another buyer at a higher price. Perhaps a cheaper room was reserved? No. Was a voucher provided? No. Did they recommend another hotel nearby? No. Did the manager personally reach out to us with an apology or explanation? No. Has anyone in a leadership position attempted to contact us to rectify the situation? No. Instead, we had to book at a nearby motel for an inflated rate as the entire town was booked for the Tech game the following morning. 2-Star hotels are 2-Star hotels for a reason. They will gladly leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere if it means they can make a few extra bucks. Plan your next Tech game trip at this hotel if you like being treated like trash.

Simple, clean rooms with ample parking at a great price. A few clicks from shopping and dining. Check-in/out were quick and easy. This has become our go-to stop when in Lubbock. There are no breakfast offerings, but for a small fee (7.50) you can have a quick breakfast item delivered to your room. There is also a snack room (credit card only) if you have the evening munchies.

Stayed here while in town for a foorbalm game. There weren't a lot of options. Paid $254 for a double room, which is a little steep for a 2 star hotel. The property was clean, and the room was sufficient. A little dated and more of a dorm room vibe than a nice hotel. Walls are thin and we could here noise from above us as we were going to sleep. The mini kitchen with a full size fridge and stove top were nice touches. Plenty of parking and we felt safe.

My Place Hotel in Lubbock is nothing like my welcoming, inviting personal place at home. If you’re looking for a hotel that has one job, providing customers with a place to stay, and fails at that singular job look no further! My Place Hotel cancel rooms last minute, after confirming their availability the day of, just to make a few extra dollars on a game day (which I was initially shocked they would admit to this but after the experiencing the poor hospitality at this establishment I am unfortunately not). This hotel is about as likely to provide you with a place to stay the night as that toxic ex, who almost everyone has had the unfortunate experience of going back to after cheating, and then expecting them not being unfaithful again. News flash: just like the ex will cheat again this hotel will cancel your reservation (both are unreliable). After driving over eight hours, being sleep deprived, and hungry this hotel turned an entire group of people who had made reservations well in advance. Meanwhile, leaving those who care about them most worried about their safety and wellbeing as well as wondering if they would have a safe place to sleep (which thankfully we did) hours away from their loved ones (since they were turned away late at night). Furthermore, on top of not providing the bare minimum job of a hotel, this establishment also has poor customer service and rude staff. If I could give this location lower than one star I would. I could not recommend people to AVOID staying here at all costs more. The least this establishment could have done was not confirm our rooms the day of so we could have made arrangements a bit in advance accordingly. But no. There was no common decency to even do that. I really hope this never happens to anyone else and that the few extra dollars was worth ruining a group of young adults’ weekends nevertheless risking their safety.

I am disappointed to say that I have stayed at this hotel a few times when traveling to Lubbock, but that will never happen again. After recommending this hotel to my kids as an affordable option to stay this past weekend, I am disgusted to see how they were treated. My kids (all young adults) were so excited to travel to Lubbock this weekend, and create a nice family memory, as they all live in different cities now. They booked this room months in advance, wanting an affordable option. They are all young adults & traveling on a football weekend is not cheap. After driving for hours, their rooms were canceled suddenly by the manager, as instructed by Vicky. My son had spoken to the manager earlier that day, who confirmed they were set, which Vicky was aware of. What my kids thought would be an affordable option, ended up being extremely expensive, as they were forced to pay inflated rates and find somewhere new to sleep for the night. Two of my kids have Narcolepsy, and they were traveling with their special needs brother, so needless to say - this was an extremely stressful situation. I’ve seen the owner respond saying they are "working to fix the situation", however, there has been ZERO attempt to reach out, and rectify things. Bottom line is: the management is the one who made this decision in the first place, so their response of "working to fix things" is just like everything else that we experienced this weekend - dishonest & disingenuous.
